Rubbing In Front Tire

Hey guys quick question i mounted my 235/35/19's yesterday to my 19 x 8.5 on my clk they are offset is 35, when i mounted them the installer said they were hitting with an upper metal in there that has a big bolt, i'm not sure what it is but i'll try to take a picture. Has anybody every experienced this? Does anybody know what this is? There is the spring, shock and then some big piece of metal coming out that connects to the brakes? Can this be removed or do i need to go with a with less wider wheel?
Thanks
David

Ive never seen any shop put a 30 sidewall on the front of a benz. Thats way to think, and you need some sidewall to actually have the rims last more than a week.

99 CLK RENNtech Coupe
I am running 235-35-19 on mine with no rubbing at all. That size is also the closest to OE as to not mess with the ABS or ASR.
