Bought CLK55, selling the 430
I decided to buy a 2001 CLK55 AMG this weekend and want to thank all of you who helped educate me along the way. Especially to Bulocan who was kind enough to look the car over for me...a true gentleman!
I also have purchased a 5yr/50,000 mile Daimler/Chrysler extended warranty. It adds another 5 yrs/50,000 miles and covers everything except bodyparts, and maintenance items for $2990.
I think I am only going to have Steve add COMAND and the hands free phone stuff. I believe I read here he is coming to Chicago late March. I emailed him and just waiting for the word. I will also add the Evosport underdrive pulleys and maybe some wider rear rims...but haven't even started that process yet.
Looking forward to my first drive in a CLK55!

Thanks everyone, and especially you Bulocan! You really made the buying decision easier and more comforting! I won't receive the car until sometime next week and I am already getting wrestless to drive it...it will be my first ever in a 55.

What does an '01 55 run you right now? And what are you looking for when you sell the '99 430? I'm not quite in the market yet. Had been saving for a used SLK320 but the CLK has grown on me and is a lot more practical.

blackbenz, school AND driving a Mercedes! I'd say you are doing well with 55 or 430!
Hellcat, I paid $28,600 for the 55 and am asking $17,500 for the 430. Check my post in the classified section and feel free to call me if you have any questions at 319-321-2553. It's been a great car for me, I only hope the same for the 55!
unsung, a board member sent me the eBay listing, so I emailed the guy and he called me back. He had many photos to share and I ran a carfax and the Vehicle Master Inquiry at the dealership. The car checked out fine and Bulocan, a memeber here, looked the car over for me and gave me a thumbs up. Just waiting for delivery and my first drive!
