A C230 Kompressor
It was OK, but the dask rattled and squeaked. Previously I got a C230, but the dash display on it blinked in and out. In sum, I liked the performance and would consider buying a "bottom end" MBZ for my wife but these dash board problems have me thinking twice.
My dealer, Smythe in San Jose, CA also sells Volvos and I probably will ask if I can have one of them while my CLK55 is in for its upcoming B service.
I need to find something soon, since my wife thinks she wants a M3 rag-top and I am not ready to trade her in, a commnet you would appreciate if you knew what she did with her last Porsche.

<A day at MB service....>
service advisor: "ok sir if we'll just have your insurance card and you'll have a c class loaner and be on your way."
me: "here you go" <hands service advisor GEICO insurance card>
service advisor: "umm, sir, GEICO doesn't provide coverage in New Jersey."
me: "so what, if I get into an accident in New Jersey I'll just shoot the guy nobody will ever know."
service advisor: "umm sir that is illegal, and besides MB policy strictly forbids killing others while driving our cars."
me: "what if I stab him?"
service advisor: "no"
me: "baseball bat?"
service advisor: "no"
me: "ice-pick?"
service advisor: "no"
me: "well what do you got for me?"
service advisor: "we can call up enterprise rent a car and get you a rental"
me: "fine with me"
<few minutes later, 18-yr old geek shows up>
geek: <in screechy voice> err sir if you sign these papers you'll be on your way.
me: <signing papers with fake signature> there you go
geek: here's your key <hands me a Saturn key>
me: what the f*ck is this?
geek: your car
me: you expect me to trade my CLK430 in for a Saturn??
service advisor: company policy
me: f*ck you

Loaner
Nearly always an ML 320. Always low mileage, sometimes only a few hundred miles. On Long Island there was a problem with people buying a car from one dealer based on price and having the car serviced at another dealer based on location. Hence, my dealer has a policy where you can only get a loaner if you bought your car from them. The wait time for a loaner went from about six weeks to about one week.

New dealer opened up in town last week and I got a Chrysler PT Cruiser when I took my car in for service. They claim they will have a fleet of 20 M-Bs available for as loaners when they're established and use Enterprise rent-a-car if they run out. For now, they just use Enterprise from a neighboring dealer.
The previous dealer had Enterprise for awhile then switched to Hertz. They didn't have M-B loaners unless you wanted to pay extra $ out of your own pocket. I've had a Mazda 626, Chevrolet Malibu, full-size Chevrolet Tahoe, and Ford Taurus on previous visits to that dealer.

S63 AMG
RUSNAK put me in some little dodge 4 cyl. from enterprise rental car and enterprise had the nerve to try and upsell me to the ML320 for $60
Also tried to get me to pay for insurance!
So much for "free" loaner car when warrenty work is being done.

LOL!!
I like the subtle change from "service advisor" to "geek." LOL!! Good one.
I get either an E320, ML320, or SLK230..my choice.

no no that should be rent-a-car geek that showed up, but the system interpreted the line before as html code and ignored it.
I tried the make the experience funny, but a Saturn is no laughing matter. Friends don't let friends drive Saturns.

A 2-Seater Roaster & A 4-Door AMG & 2008 S550
When I took my CLK430 in to House of Import, my service advisor got me a E320 once, and a brand new 02 C3200 w/ only a hundred miles on it. Whenever I find a problem in my car, I call my service advisor immediately and of course he askes me to bring the car in. I never schedule an appointment or anything. So far, I am very happy w/ Mercedes' services

Im not aloud to get a loaner because of my age, didn't know that you had to be 25 to get a loaner,
so I just ask the dealership to drive me to work and then I hitch a ride home with one of my friends:p
