What do you think of this deal? 1999 CLK 430......

The car is almost fully loaded, no phone or navigation. It has the AMG wheels on it and the car has only 15,000 miles on it. I can get it from the dealer for $38-39000. It still has a year left on warrenty plus an additional year (starmark).

So is this a good deal or should I hold out until I can find a later model?

Thanks for any input!!

2001 CLK
Dont buy the '99 CLKs. Too many problems and many improvements were made to the 2000+ CLKs.

It's silver with grey interior.

I would like to hold out for a newer model but I'm already stretching my wallet with this one.

The only reason why I was considering buying this was because I was told it was a great deal. Everywhere I look I see this car at $42-45K

I traded in my 00 CLK 430 with 30,000 miles for $38k, and dealer just posted price for $46900 with starmark, seems they can generate lots profit from trade-in..

I got a 2000 CLK 430 with 7000 miles for $43,000.00 just south of Chicago in Decatur, IL. (I live in Chi)

So, that seems to be a decent deal. But...you might be able to find a 2000 for $2,000.00 more or so.

I would def. hold out for 2000 if you can. Otherwise, that is a good deal. Nice touches added in 2000+.

I agree that a 2000

would be much better (SOS, info center, prepaid service and more). But if a 99 is what you want, that's OK, but high 30's is too much for a 99. Coupes of all years are soft, should be a buyers market. Hope this helps.

you guys are smoking something! That's a great deal! And nothing wrong w/ the 99's. Change the mirror's, add a gay antenna, and they look the same

Whatever you do, don't get the mirrors from some poor SOB's 2000+ CLK! They're expensive

and you also need to remove the side marker on the fender, replace the steering wheel, gauges, and shift ***.

my sister has a 2000 CLK320 and the wind/road noise insulation is not as good as my brother's friend's 2002 CLK320 or his other friend's 2001 CLK55. So, i recommand the 01 or 02 used car.

a 99 CLK430 does not worth that much. only the dealer sale the car at those kind of prices. the usual market value from individual owner is only around $36000 with GOOD conditions. No offense but unless it is a 01 or 02 i would not want to get the car from the MB dealership because they sale the car at much higher price. the only good thing is that they will be certified by MB and have extended warranty.

Try searching the available cars on the mbusa website under starmark cars. I found my 2000 CLK 430 with 36000 miles and starmark certified about 2 months ago from that website through a dealer in Texas for $35995 (originally listed at $39995). It's fully loaded except for nav. Then about 1 month later, I saw similar car with nav listed for about $40000, but it was sold in few days.

From the outside, you won't notice any difference if you do the following changes. you can even swap the cluster and shift *** if you want, but there really isn't a need to.
