City lights Narva germen bulbs

I still need to replace the city lights to something whiter. Has anyone tried these Narva H6W blue bulbs? There is a pair for sale on Ebay.

$20 for tiny colored bulbs? Come on, don't waste your money. Any blue tint bulb is not going to be that much different. If you want pure white, you need to use LED's and load equalizers (which will still run less than 20 bucks).

i thought the equalizers get hot? did anyone ever follow up on a complete successful installation of the LED's?

off topic but I had to ask

Terry - whered you put the functions which would be near the top of your center console (hazards, unlock door button, etc...)
could you post an upclose pic of your center console so I could check out the alpine screen and everything beneath it?

Thanx in advance

Heh, just send me your Alpine and we'll call it even. There is a thread on the ahem, "other" site that I went into detail but I used BA9s Super White bulbs http://autolumination.com/otherleds.htm scroll down and you'll see them. They have 2 contacts (nubs) on the base. You have to grind one of these down leaving only one contact. Push in, twist, done. I did not use equalizers 'cuz I have l.e.d.s all around http://forums.mbnz.org/forums/forums...osts=11&fid=20 I'll probably wear out my reset button

The equilizers do get hot as they take on the roll of an incandecent bulb so they can not contact any meltable surface.

Yo Thrill

I just ordered the BA9's from autolumination. Do I really need the
load equalizers? If I do where do I install that?

You don't have to use them but they will prevent the "bad bulb" dummy light. Without them you'll have to hit the reset button every time you turn on the lights. Here's the deal:

Hey ThrillKill,
On those clear bumper lights did you have to get new superwhite bulbs to go inside of them or did they come like that? If so which bulbs did you get?

unlike some of you lucky *******s... i purchased the car without heated seats. as for the tow button.. i don't think there is one for my car.. either that or it was deemed useless and deleted. my hazards, door lock, headrest release, and bass control are where the ashtray is.
