Car wouldn't start, ABS BAS ESP Lights on

Weird thing happened to me yesterday when I went to the car wash.
I parked the car so they could vacuum the interior and after they were
done could not start the car. The car would not turn over I can hear
it trying to start but no go. This really scared the hell out of me because
the night before I just installed the LED city lights and load equalizers.
Well another car pulls up behind me and offers to jump the car.

We jumped the car and my car was able to start. When the car started I got 2 malfunctions. The SRS and BAS ESP lights went on. I'm going to bring it to
the dealer on Saturday, it has 1 month left of warranty. After returning home
left it alone for a few hours and started the car. This time I'm not getting any malfunctions. Weird, I'm concearned that I was not able to start my car?
Just a few hours before this happened I went to muffler shop and removed
the resonators on my AMG exhaust. Any way this could all be linked, resonator and city lights?

Has anyone experienced this??????

Thanks in advance

I'll bet you unattached the battery cables when you installed the equalizers then didn't attach them well enough. If it lost contact you would essentially be resetting the ecu and get the warnings.....Just a guess.

the equalizers go on the lights, not the main power cable on the battery... how would an accidental detach reset the ecu?

I had a feeling that the muffler place may have disconnected the battery
while they were working underneath. I checked and the battery cables are still intact. If it happens again I'll think about replacing the battery. Hopefully it's not the alternator right??

No, I'm saying he purposly detached the battery prior to working on the lights and maybe didn't attach it back very well.

the muffler shop has no reason whatsoever to be disconnecting the battery to work down there... i would be more suspicious of their activities if they actually do disconnect my battery...

its like, would you need to disconnect your batteries to change your tires?

Bingo! Your ECU resets itself every time you disconnect the battery. It then relearns the settings as you drive. I doubt the muffler shop messed with the battery but SFBAYCLK55AMG probably did when he worked on his lights.

I didn't disconnect the battery when working on the LEDS. I've been driving
around for a few days now and no malfunctions so far.

I would say about 4 times, each time taking the key out of the ignition.
You can hear a click but the car doesn't turn over.

ok, then my other theory is out the door... because sometimes when you insert the key, the ir reader may not sync up with the key, and turning the key will do nothing and lots of error lights will be on... but, usually after you take the key out and reinsert it, it should work

if your car has been doin ok lately, maybe it was some kind of power/software hiccup... hopefully the problem doesn't resurface...

I had a similar problem and it was my crank position sensor. After it was running for a while it would just shut off (while running) or wouldn't start at all if I ran into a store and came right back out. After it cooled down it would start again. CPS was replaced and no more problem.

I'd have that looked at. Just a thought.

This same thing is happening to my car. Car will start, after driving around, go into a store or where ever, come back out car will start, but after a little while, car will start. The other problem is sometimes car will shut down after driving around.

Tru story how much did dealer charge you to replace the crank position sensor? Also, how did the detect that was the problem?

same here

Last weekend i drove my car around town, come home and attempt to lock my door, nothing happens. Strange. I try using the spare key. Same results. I get in the car, and attempt to start it. Key won't budge.

I called RoadSide Assistance, he popped the trunk and adjusted the battery terminal connection. He wrote up a ticket up for it to get fixed at the dealership no charge.

Once the car started, all the malfunction buttons appeared. The service guy told me to rotate the steering wheel all the left and then all the way to the right.. This readjusted the ECU. So far i haven't had any issues. I still need to take the car to the dealership..
