btw, theine, you gotta help us out bro... instead of posting the link, can you just post the pic... it would make it much easier... When you making your post, just hit the IMG button, then insert the url there... it will then show the picture in the post rather than the url... |
Where did you get the aluminum trim? I have been looking for some.

Originally posted by ELENI Very hot  I hope that doesn't mean you're getting rid of your CLK. I love my CLK, but lets face it, if a deal came up for another MB coupe, i'd jump on it, wouldn't you? Of course, if i could have both, i would... but if chose only 1... well... it won't be the CLK |
No ofcourse I would. Since the CLK is no longer a dream but reality for me my new dream is a CL500 or CL55. And ofcourse I wouldn't turn down an SL.
But if I had the opportunity I would like to keep my CLK also. |
I FINALLY figured ot how to post it! Thanks to those who helped.
It's all stock, for now, but I haven't had it but a few weeks or so. Compared to many of your rides, it's not much to look at, but that will all change soon. The only add on's are XM and Passport SR-7 remote radar--I had to get the most important things first! |
Thanks Danny for listing my car as one of your favourites.
Maybe I missed something, but how do you post pics??????? |
I'll PM you and give you the scoop.

not very attractive
Some of the cars on the pic thread look like they are straight out of Fast and Furious. Do not like them very much. But, that is my opinon. No disrespect intended.
|
Here is mine...
Not as nice as others. But I 'll have it upgraded soon.

More to come
I 'd have more pics uploaded to imagastation. Right now my vision is bothered by the side-effects...
By the way, Greg, it's stock. I just had it color-coded. I am planning to replace the exhaust. Maybe Brabus. Any suggestion, guys? |

The Pagani Zonda runs an AMG 5.5 liter engine.
Those are 20 in FAB wheels on the E. Rides a bit too high I think. |
no! zonda and zonda roadster came with 2 versions. the 7.2 and 7.3. That roadster version should have a AMG 7.3L v12 in it. im pretty sure.

The earlier Zondas were 6 and 7 L V12's. The roadster does indeed have a 7.3L AMG V12. |

Ahh the milkmans car. :y (color)
Are those 17 or 18 inch wheels? :nix: |
18's and I love them but I just had to take them off and I am waiting on a set of 17's to come in just like them.
I live in the DC metro area and the profile is just to low for all the potholes we have around here. |
The wheels look nice and clean. I didn't know those 18" E-class rims fit on our CLKs.
|
Looks like my sis's car w/ different rims...hahaha you got the same year too.

Finally done with my CLK!!!
Well, as of today, I am finally done with my CLK (Yeepee!!!). Tinted windows, added spoiler, Kenwood Excelon DDX7015 DVD Player with Navigation and Sirius Satellite Radio, Alpine V12 5 Channel amp, Amp, 15" TDX Diamond sub, Lighted AMG door sills, and just installed the bumper, which was the last thing I wanted to do to it. Here are some photos. Let me know what you think.

Khena,
That CLK looks sweet!!! The big star on the grill looks super sharp! Nice job... Cheers, Dominik |
Thank you
and yes, there is a black mesh grill in the middle. You can see the ground because it was so bright outside, but usually, you just see the mesh.
Thanks for the compliments :-) |
The shine on your car is amazing. :y
Looks a bit 4x4 though. |
Thank you
It does shine really good. When I got the bumper installed, my body guy waxed, polished, and buffed it. When he was done, it looked like it came out of the showroom floor. This guy is AMAZING!!!! No more swirls, knicks, scratches... He did an amazing job!
As far as the 4x4, I think it's the angle and the photo, because after looking at the photo, you're right, it does look a little like that, but in real life, it doesn't have that feel at all. Oh and by the way, it's not an expression bumper, it's a MH-Dezent that I got from www.oberklasse.com Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it :-) |
Awesome Job on your CLK, how about some interior pics ~_<

It is an 8000k Matrix HID Kit, using halogen housings on a non-xenon ML320. 8000k get a lot of compliments, and are hecka bright! I would suggest 6000-8000k in HIDs, the 10000k's suck! I've seen them on an Escalade and they aren't as great as they seem. I paid 450 for mine including installation, HID kits aren't cheap.

Thanks Heeman!
Very unique. Please tell me exactly what was placed on the top of the sideskirt? How was the sideskirt held in place? Are those impressions of where the screws are placed (to hold the sideskirt)?
|
Black tape (matt type) was used to cover the joint area. The dimples are impressions of the ?screws used. The dimples are usually not obvious, but I pressed them down a bit to make them more obvious to you.

clk320 lower fogs= H1 clk430 + clk55 lower fogs = H3 the site is not accurate much like many other sites. |

I just love Zinetti rims. I was looking at the "Fives" but my next door neighbor has them already.
Its good to see they look as good on a CLK as they do on his Audi A6. |

Appreciate the positive note. The majority of the 430 and 55 flavors are very impressive - but I stand proud of my 320. I was somewhat hesitant in choosing those rims only because I haven't heard of the manufacture, but nevertheless, I got hooked the moment the dealer let me try them on. |

you just want to embarass me with my stock ride compared to yours... but, yeah... i'd like that... maybe we can get a few MBs together to snap a few photos and talk shop...

i'll keep you posted... maybe josh can pull away from his glamour lifestyle and hang with us |
^^ Got a perfection solution for that touch up. I'm using this stuff called Wizard and work very good for cleaning polished finishes. Again just let me know.

Where can i buy some Wizard?
I have some of Meguiars NXT metal polish... if that doesn't work, I'll try Wizard.... |
I bought it from the internet a long time ago and i don't remember the site address. But i can give you some if you want. Just let me know. Very easy to use. Just kind of a tedious job but the outcome is :y

sweet deal... let me try out my meguiars stuff first... I hate leeching off others... makes me feel cheap (cheaper than I'd like... :D)

hey does the RS bumper usually have a straight line down the center of the mesh? i think i remember bruce's bumper having that
|
Yeah, but if you're looking at Danny's (mmgrad's) bumper, his is a Lorinser DTM bumper which does not have the piece down the middle.
|
yep... mine is Lorinser DTM... and its Authentic... easy fit, easy install :y :D
|
ohhh yeah i really like that bumper then. i thought it was an RS, but whenever i looked at them, i never liked the line down the middle...didn't realize that they were two diff bumpers until today
|
both kits are nice... but i think lot of people opt for the Replica Carlsson cause they get scared off by the price of the Lorinser kit
Price of unpainted kits Full Replica Carlsson kit: ~$700-$1,000 Full Authentic Lorinser DTM kit: ~$6,500 |
holy crap! yeah that would def scare me off too hahaha. how much was your front bumper alone?
|
The front bumper with lights retail for about $2,500 + tax + paint/install...
|
wow!
|
I removed the vertical bar from my RS bumper and I think it looks alot better.

No, that's a C/F splitter for the front bumper, its not a scuff plate. It basically adds on the bumper to make it look lower, while also keeping the "racecar" look, they use it to keep the car down to the ground.

320= Is the engine type 3.2L V6 Engine. AMG= The company was founded back in 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht (the A) and his partner Eberhard Melcher (M), whilst Aufrecht’s birthplace of Großaspach (G) supplied the third letter in the company name. This company modify Mercedes-Benz cars . Check http://www.mercedes-amg.com . Now if you go the dealer you can order your CLK fully AMG it means CLK55 engine , exterior, and interior. or you can order any CLK type , and you can add the AMG Packge to it ( exterior body kit including the badge). I am talking about non-USA sold cars. Now,do you understand what a CLK320 AMG mean? |

Do not mix things up here, i am talking about major tuning programs.
every a modifying compony has a tuning progrram Engine, Interiors ,and aerodynamics-Kits . You can modify your engine only if you want . and that would not make it for example a Brabus ? |

also i have a brand new authentic lorinser roof spoiler with the installation kit for sale for $250 if you are interested. the spoiler is painted black 040 so obviously you would need to get it repainted but it has never been installed. let me know. |
wats going on B.B. Nice ride Tery. :y Where'd you get the c/f hood and how is the fitment?
|
got it from Vis. Its not on their website but you can call them and they will have it. Just make sure you let them know its for the old CLK style. Fitment is not the greatest but with some adjustment it will fit pretty good. I use files to file out some of the insdie corner of the grill. And you will need to drill out some holes. One problem i ran into yesterday is the 6 screws for the grill is not long enough. because the hood is thicker than the stock in that part. stock screws is like No.10x.25" you should get 4 No.10x 1" one and 4 No.10x3/4" one. trying to use the stcok screws to clamp down the grill might crack the hood.
|
Thanks Tery, great info. Not sure if Im gonna get one if fitment isnt OEM though.
|
Does it accualy weight less, and what was the price? Lookin good :y
|
yes its much lighter than the stock hood. I am trying to find a place in Vancouver that can weight the car. I want to know how much weight i took off from that car. the hood is about 600US.

For the nonmetric people, how many lb's is 1400kg? Isnt the conversion factor 2.2?

its the one my company makes in CA there was a huge post a while ago that acb started because he said that the bumper he bought from me did not fit

the bumper's definitely sticking out on the drivers side and it makes both of your headlights look kinda strange. that's an..."interesting"...interior you got. your passenger side carpet is backwards, rotate it 180 degrees.

bumper sits just fine its my headlights that are off due to broken tabs im in the process of getting new ones i went and took pictures of the other side and will include them here as far as my interior i figured most on this forum wouldnt like it but its diffrent you either love it or hate it i have neo suede on the roof but my camera wouldnt take a quality picture and as far as the carpet thanks for the heads up i got my car washed yesterday and they must of put it in that way but if you hadnt said anythign i wouldnt have had any idea of how it sat in there http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...Picture005.jpg |
CLK_AMG: Pretty wild interior...looks well done. Exterior looks impressive, especially from the side.
I looked to see if you already said who did your interior, but I didn't see it. I'm interested in replacing some of the vinyl armrest with stiched leather. How did you get it apart to get the vinyl off and install the leather. I'm also thinking about possibly replacing the seat panels that you've got your custom pattern replaced with - was that hard? If you had someone do this work for you, how much was it? |

Didn't put the skirts on yet. Tomorrow, my buddie's gonna help me get them on. He's also going to paint my side impact strips to match the car. Couple of problems. The rear diffuser is warped. It always was but I thought the paint would make it look better but it made it worse. Felix give me a better deal on the carbon fiber one pal, ok? Also, I painted the front mesh flat black and it looks like nothing is there. If it was silver CF I would definately consider it although I just found out I'm paying 5k to have new drain tiles put in my basement. That's supercharger money  |
I just got my first Mercedes in january, and found this site searching the web for various info http://debat.sunddebat.com/images/smilies/new.gif ... thought I'd post a few pics of my ride, it's a '99 CLK 230 Compressor ... I'm having Comand-navi installed within a month or two :y
When the tires are worn out, I'll get 19" rims for summer and use these for wintertyres (a must in scandinavia  ) http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...side_front.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...ide_profil.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9.../Hside_bag.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...e_interior.jpg |

Chappy, i am running #1 pad and brabus spring and shocks. No rubbing on the front and rear at all, rear i did roll fender.
|
tery where can I get that front spoiler lip?
|
Nice ride Tery, looks nicer every time I see it! I lov ethe Nurburgring sticker. My friend has it on his M3. Unfortunately most people think its a country and everyone asks him what country it is!
|
Scottjr2005 the front lip is from Brabus and the lip spoiler is cut out from a ABS plastic. I jsut bring the plastic in to my bodyshop and ask them to cut it out and screw it into the front lip.

Very nice car!! Love the wheels and the fenders, but it looks like the hood doesn't fit right around the headlights??
|
yeah it doesn't I can't seem to make it fit any better....any ideas?
:wwf: |
JimmyP, I had never seen ur car before and it looks REALLY good! The problem is not the hood, its the fenders. The aftermarket fenders lack a bracket to hold the outside of the headlights up. Im workig on a solution for that.
|
I don't think it's the fender because it's an original one and it should fit correctly. I have seen this problem with Carlsson Replica where the front bumper did not fit perfectly. It's a very strange problem with the original bumper

19" Giovanna rubbing problem
Pic of my Lorinser Ml and CLk 430(19" Giovanna Essen's, H&R Springs, Clear Brake light...etc)[/QUOT
I have a staggered 19" sabina giovanna, but the back whell rubs, any body has a solution for this? |
if its rubbing on the inside, have your wheel well rolled (they melt the plastic away with a heat gun) if rubbing on the outside, get wheels with a more rounded side wall.
|
if it only rubs very very very little, just leave it alone, once the tire wears enough, the problem disappears.
if it rubs quite a bit, try put on a 2-3mm spacer if it doesn't hit your fender... |
|

shaz are those 18" monoblocks? they look bigger for some reason? what tires and springs do you have?

The original owner of my CLK drilled the front license bracket right into the bodywork and I want get rid of that ugly plate and replace the front bumper. |

so, this is my baby...
hi people! finally I found you! I have this car for almoust 3 years, I changed it 3 times, I tried to customize it in the best manner I thought is better... but I never had some people to talk about it!
so, I will post now the first job I did to my car, now I'm working it again, I have this tuning show on 15 october, so... no no no |
wow that looks really nice. where did you get the clear headlights from?

|
I don't know anout u guys but in this part of the world u cannot find any customizing parts for this car. U can always find something for an Golf, Bora, Skoda, Evo V-IX, imprezza, but for an mb is impossible to get something...
now I'm customizing my baby again. Changed the colour again, the rims, the leather, I've mounted an crazy sound system (3 amplifiers, 4x15" bass, 6 treble speakers and 6 tweeters, kinetik, changed my old Pioneer 6700 with an clarion 868, etc) but I worked for this 2 months and I'm not finished... it was like this... |
if it didn't cost you too much to make those headlights, i'm sure you could make some $$ selling them to people in the US :D
|
that new glass costs 15 dollars, including the mounting and dismounting (is his the word? my english is not so technical...).
The material is plexiglass (plastic glass) and they are ready in 3 days... But, like any item that is not made by specialist, u have a lot of problem with them... first, the new ones don't have that lines on them, so the light is all over the place! on the street u're like the disco man... second, when it's raining or it's foggy they are all wet inside. anyway, I had an accident so they are history... I can make another pair but now I stick on the originals... I tried... |

|
That's a sweet ride and a great photo tery. I like how the edges are soft but the car in center is really sharp. Great contrasts with the leaves on the ground and fog in back. Really nice.
|
Tery, you have the best CLK W208 non-amg......I love it! if i had ever owned a W208, it would be one like yours.....
btw, you have PM! |
Tery, That's got to be one of the nicest W208s I've ever seen! Those Fikse wheels are awesome too! I wanted a set for my Porsche 944 turbo, but the car was stolen before I got the chance to :nix: In fact, I'd appreciate it if you E-Mail me that picture in its original size! It'd make a great wallpaper! |
Wow, that looks sick! Did you end up painting your hood? I love the wheels too! Now thats a true track car.
|
No i did not paint the hood. i put my stock back on.
the CF hood flip open around 160km on highway. damage the flange supporting the hood and scratch the the roof a bit. Luckly there was no car behind me. |
Thats crazy! Glad you're ok. Did you have it fastened at the 3 original mounting points?
|
yes everything is mounted on the orginal place.
the CF hood give away from the two front lock on each side. the left hand side pop open 1st then rip right hand side off. The inner layer of the hood on right hand side stays with the flange and the rest went over the car. |
A few Camera Phone Pix. Im getting rims/tires put on soon. Then I will get ahold of a better camera :-)

haven't had time to post a pic of my ride w/ my new rims until now.......
oh yeah....almost forgot to mention that CarLab motorsports hooked me up with the tires and rims =) |
I love black opal! Just so hard to choose rims to match that color!
|
clkal, the new rims look great. What make, width and offset are they? How did you like the VI's you had on the clk430, been contemplating getting those for my black clk with amg-body kit.
Please upload a few more shots of the front of the car to show the grill at different angles. |

here you go:
also, I liked the VI's a lot back then, because nobody really knew about the replicas....now, everybody has a set. |
Yeah, know what you mean. However I live in Norway and I have not seen a merc with the VI's on over here. I have also been looking at some new AMG VI replicas with 1,25'' front lip and 2,75'' rear lip, they also have offsett ET38. The TUV approved fitment is ET31, so I would think the wheels would look somewhat tucked without 7mm spacers, but yours actually looks great in the picture. I'm of the opinion that the front wheels stick out to far on most peoples setups, yours looks just right. I think if you ran 7mm spacers in the back only you would get the right look. Agressiv stance in rear with ET31 and nice setup in front, wheels not poking out far, with ET38.

Hey Orpheus, I got my grille from formymercedes .com, I just checked the site and it looks like they still have it. You can also get similar ones off ebay as well. Cheers mate! |

hey how much did you lower your car by and what springs and shocks did you use. I want to lower mine but most mechanics over here in london advise against it. I dont know what to do. I already ordered a set of eibach sportline spings but am in two minds whether to fit them or not.

Quartz is an amazing color, I love how it changes so much in different lighting conditions. I only wish my paint was in as good condition as yours, the previous owner of my car didn't keep it garaged and it shows.

Thanx...So do I..The funny thing is that here in Europe/Scandinavia verry few think a MB can be red...So it is almost impossible to find any MB in red sp guess if I was happy to find this rare car. In the US it is much more common and accepted. But I adore it and can't wait to CKM design it.:)

It will be nice to just come here and scroll down the page. Also please only post pictures of your CLK, it doesn't matter if you own a 320, 430, 55, or even some custom one! Let's try and keep this thread mainly pictures, and if you have a question about someones CLK that you see please PM them.

You have taste in rims, can't wait till see your car sitting on dubs. :y Thanks for the complement. Those Moxy's were pretty cheap, but I had them custom painted for me by the shop I bought them from because they don't sell black with chrome lip...they only sell black with polished or machined looking lips which kinda looks cheap and will never really look clean. I learned my lesson with polished lips with my DPE RO7's...hey were a ***** to keep clean and tight. I can hook you up with the shop that sold them to me. They have this special for the 19's staggered with tires for about $2300 installed I paid $2500. PM me and I'll give you their contact info. They're in Garden Grove CA. |

CLK FAN,
I love how your kit looks, it is Brabus or Carlsson? how much did it cost? -Greg It's Brabus and it was really exspensive but they sell the replica at a fraction of the price on ebay...I think about $500 - $700. Don't get Brabus they are to over priced. This company didn't make the replica back when I bought it...if they did I would have gone with the replica. |
I thougt it was Rieager? Where can you find the Brabus copy? Auction number??
|

wow, 260KPH = 160MPH. That's fast! From the front bumper it looks like a CLK320 too...how long did it take to get up to that speed?
Edit: Your profile says CLK320 haha. |
Next time I will take a video of the acceleration 0 - 260km/h or 160mph...
I hope I will change my cluster to an USA AMG version this week. It's waiting here for at least half year :D :D |
The max speed that i could hit is 240 KMH wiith my CLK 320, I could have reached 260 but i did not have the heart to reach that !!
I can not wait to see your full speed video!! |
Does the 320 hit 160 MPH stock or did you guys chip it to do 160, sorry for the newb question.

to answer those ppl with car RHD like in UK.
this headlight dose have a little tap inside the housing, you can flip them up or down. i think UP is for LHD, down it for RHD You can adjsut the aim pattern even more like the OEM headlight. On nob for changing aim up or down, one nob for side to side. it produce different aim pattern. I jsut finish everything adjsuting and put everything back. I will post pic up soon. |
here is the pictures.

i dont' think all the headlights are made by the same company.
but yep you can fully adjust it. side to side up and down. I think is a okay DIY job to do. jsut take the bumper off which is pretty easy if you have a jack and a pair of jack stand. and jsut take off the bumper and headlight put the new one in. and play with the ajustment. |
yeh looks very nice indeed - might actually get some - im sure they look just as good in real life ....is that right tery? anyway will be getting them in a few months so will post pics when they are done

A mesh is possible but I havent decided what I want to do yet. I mean how often do you see a benz with a front mount like that? :nix: I may just have it anodized black or something. I have decided that the fog lights will not be put in. I put them on and they dont look good. clkcrazy- Go gold! White on gold is SO friggin SICK! I'll dig up some pics for you if you want with white cars and gold wheels. Droooooooooool. As you already know, black has been done a billion times which is why I went with gold. I also considered black opal to match the car. |

I'm impressed! I guess it's time I hooked up mine with those same lights. I'm just starting to add things to my CLK since I just acquired it 2 months ago...my other benz is a '03 S55 amg. Well, keep on doin what it do!

|
Just to be on the safe side I ordered a set of RHD projectors from Taiwan, they should be arriving sometime next week. How hard are they to fit, did you have to take off the front bumper - any pics?
|
The front bumper must be off...No shortcut there...Then it is super eazy..
|
can the front bumper be removed easily, but most of all is it a pain to put back on?

|
It is easy..Dont be afraid to do it..It is like 6 screws ( 2 in front and 2 on each side)and just losen the black plastic cover in the bottom and it is loose.

I am interested in how wide the beam is. Does it light up the street like OEM HIDs from BMW and porsche? I always find that their beam patterns are the widest. |
mbsca.com, your lights and car look very nice!

I did not modify anything from the projector headlight. I purches a set of H7 HID kit from a local shop that only sell HID stuff, and wire everything up. Beam pattern is not as nice as the BMW one for sure. But its way better than the OEM one i think. I will try to take some photo of the beam pattern if my car can fire up. I haven't drive it since last time i took pic and post them up here. the projector can be adjust left right up down. BTW ppl who wants to buy it, i think its a good project for your weekend. I started thursday night after work and call in sick on friday moring. |

this headlight dose have a little tap inside the housing, you can flip them up or down. i think UP is for LHD, down it for RHD macclk, when you got your lights, was it set for RHD already? anyway, after browsing through so many pics on hidplanet on what a good projector output should look like, i must say that im very satisfied with the light output! really surprised that the beam is focused and the edge of the beam pattern has a rainbow effect that makes it seem like a 'washer mod' (check hidplanet.com) has been done to my projectors. way better than my OEM xenons. im using the latest philips kit with 6000k d2s bulbs and ballasts which are really thin. :y |

yeh i think mine is different - they require the wedge style LEDs - not the same as stock. But im unable to remove the citylights....and as for the intensity issue that is always the case - when i had LEDs in my stock with my HIDs, you could hardly even see the citylights

I used to buy my tires locally before the sponsorship because I had connections and they charge less to mount and balance if you buy the tires from them. Plus you dont have to wait for the tires. Thanks for the compliment on the cars:y |

Feliz at Europassion makes the best fitting ones but you have to wait forever to get them and fitment depends on how good your bodyshop guy is. I took my AMG bumper and cut it in half horizontally and had it molded to the bottom half of a Carlsson RS bumper = perfect fitment (for my CLK55).

I was into not doing any mods to the body, mostly because I did not like the stuff that was available. But this set is great. The car will need some modification to the rear fenders though. I have mailed them for the price, and will get back, as soon as I get some info.

Our body kit for the CLK W208 is custom made, as with most of the styling kits for our clients. The AMG style body kit includes modification to all the fenders, front and rear. Wheel spacers were added to all four rims to bring them out to facilitate the widebody conversion. We're currently receiving a lot of enquiries from overseas, mostly from the States and Japan. We have plans to mass produce this body kit if we continue to receive such interest. I will drop you an e-mail if this happens anytime soon. Again, thank you for your interest in Next Level Customz. Best regards, Aaron Goh |

4th of July Purchase Newbie

Just purchaced on the 4th of July. It appears I will need lots of help as the car needs work. First week and I already trashed the spoiler. Ironic that I've driven a 944 all my life and as soon as I move to a regular sedan, I bottom out. Body shop says the front end is aftermarket, so it will cost more to repair. Can anyone confirm that this is an aftermarket spoiler? I can't tell and probably wouldn't know the difference. Already unsatisfied with the cheapo aftermarket wheels, although they don't look too bad. Hope you guys can help. I've got lots of questions, squeaks, rattles, and misprogrammed electronics.
Thanks in advance, Al Attachment 109752 Attachment 109753 Attachment 109754 |

Chrisbala - more pics plz :y Guitarist - paint the side marker silver to match the paint, it'll look much better trust me, and how bout them rims son! they look saweeeet! what's wrong with the buggy side markers??? i like the bubbley side markers, their FTMFW! |
Ya I agree da_guitarist has some dope rims. :y

Thank You
Thanks deyainrdy4ds. I thought it was a factory bumper, but I forgot that the body shop may have considered AMG as aftermarket. Sounds like a pretty costly fix. I've got another dumb question if anyone can help. Is there an easy way to figure out if the height of my car has been altered? Oh, one more. How do I post bigger pics onto the post?
|
Thanks guys!
I was thinking about doing the gray sidemarkers, but i have some black in the grill and the black hood badge and amg tint lights. I think if I do the black/chrome v8 badge instead of the buggy lights it will be nice. We'll see. I'll let you know. |

if only it was an '00 without those unsightly side markers!
|
smoke out the red part of your tail lights...it will look very nice...
|
What do you use to smoke out the lights? Do you apply it on the inside or outside of the light?
|
most people use a spray called Nightshade or you can use a piece of film and you usually spray it on the outside but some people spray it on the inside also.
|
where do you buy this stuff? Ive never seen it in the auto stores?

The spray you need is called VHT Niteshades (Nightshades?) and you can find it on ebay. |
is that brandon's od clk? did you end up buying it, he said some one from riverside got it....if it is you got a great deal man
|
No, I've had this 320 for about five years. I just started making modifications to it. She is still sweet for a 1998.

I think that gives it a bit more Euro look if anything.... 180 - Very clean ride, alot of 208 drivers are popping up in OC/LA/SB area :y The ones I see are non-modified, wrong offset wheels that make the 320 or the 430 look cheap....you guys know what I'm talking about... |

I'm used to lowered cars but the front bumper on this thing just loves to scrape! I've even hit the middle part of the exhaust coming out of parking garages.. As much as I hate to say it, I'm starting to get sick of it already. |
yeah Dave from D2 put spring pad #1 all around, bump up the spring pads to 3 or 4 and it will give you a lil more room, the orginal bumper on that car was complete scraped up from the driveways, but yeah, i remember when he first got that car, that is what made me get mine.....trust me, he didnt want to let it go, but the growing family made it no longer an option
|
I have to change my crank position sensor......
Could anyone tell were I could find a blue print of my electrical system for my 2001 clk 430? Let me Know. Thanks
|
Just to share with the CLK family, trade in the C class and got A3

Everything looks great! Except the grill logo. Coming from a car designer opinion. It's a little too overkill. Which make the car looks like a gumball machine vehicle. That logo sized would be suitable for larger facial vehicle.

Speaking of Tery, where is that guy!! :zoom:
RN, again calm down dude, just cause he has those "Quad Halo" fogs on their ride doesn't mean somebody already made them somewhere else, the guy doesnt even live in Cali for christ sake. Great congrats you made a drawing and you made your drawings come to life and put them on your ride, fantastic, do you want a chocolate chip cookie now? The world is a pretty big place, I don't think it revolves around one person who made a drawing. |
adhamclk430 vbmenu_register("postmenu_2449681", true);
Those Projector housing only takes H7 type bulb. I try putting stock Xenon light bulbs on but it won't sit flat and vibrate around when driving. So I end up buying a set of H7 HID kit. I jsut purches a 2008 A3 3.2 here is the link http://forums.fourtitude.com/zerothread?id=3478876 for the pictures. I will take more pictures with my CLK once the A3 is done modifying. |
thanks for the quick answer.

Hey John, I'm new to the fold having only just picked up my 1st Benz, totally stock (silver).
She's just looking a little too conservative for me, so I want to do some minor modding and I like your set up, looks so much better than stock but no overkill. Seeing as I am totally green in thiese things, I don't really know what specs to look for to achieve your wheel/tyre/suspension setup.:nix: So, what size wheels and tyres? incl width and offset? What kinda drop? Other than that I am just going to paint the lower black band the body color silver. |

Depends, are you a police officer? Well since these events took place in Mexico I will divulge the experiences. I have raced this kid before and pulled on him. He then accused me of "brake boosting" and I did one of these  I cant brake boost (my car is supercharged not turbo), I was on the bigger s/c pulley (7 PSI), pump gas, and no nitrous. So we ran again on sunday. About 4 times I would say. First time was somewhere about a 50 roll and we went on his 3 honks. I jumped out a car, maybe a car and a half and then just pretty much stayed at that. Then we went from a 60 roll on his three honks and I jumped out about half a car and from a 60 roll my car is at 5k+ rpm in 2nd gear. My car bounced off the rev limiter in second so he quickly got right beside me while that happened and then we pretty much stayed even. The next pull the same thing happened and he slightly pulled ahead of me. We will be running again soon but this time I will spray and get it on video :naughty:
So no good old fashioned standing start drag race? |

I`m a man, 26 years old, first timer here on Mbworld.com, and have found an answer to my car-problems already.. took me 2 minutes. Thanks. The car I`m driving: CLK 200, 1999mod, have been rolling 110.000km now. Everything is original on this one. Only lowered 40mm. http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/phot...15290_6354.jpg |

Hey guys... (and girls)
Just wanted to post some pictures of my old CLK, it was a 2000 mod, with manual gear shift and 136 HP!!!! :( I didnt to much with it, i just like it clean... Just had some 19´s on it. It had the original avantgarde suspension, i think its a bit lower than the elegance and classic suspension. So yeah, im out there looking for a new w208 convertible, a CLK 230 with compressor thats will give 193 HP!!! thats more than enough for me. Hopefully i get one before the nice weather comes... Thanks, Ray |
I need to learn more about our cars I just noticed that some of the non U.S. models came without a sunroof whats up with that.

http://www.weds.co.jp/products/kranze/bazreia.html They are only made in Japan so that guy had them ordered and shipped, more than likely ordered them through Fuji Corporation. I would have liked to see what setup that guy is running and what custom mods he has done. |
Sounds like a cool idea... Good vs. Bad... (:zoom:...bad...ass, just kidding)
Seriously let's do that! :naughty:

next thing u should do is a set of H&R to drop the car down
|
I would love to drop my 4x4 but it will have to wait until funds catch up. OE wheels was great to deal with. I had my wheels in about 3 days form the auction end. I also bought cone head shaped lug bolts because the ones I had were spherical. One thing to note is the offset is 25mm so they stick out more than usual. The front is flush with the outer lip of the fender.
O yeah dont forget after the drop I need a black/white 2 tone interior :) |
well here it is and its not even close to being done :y

Thinking about black projector lights... or should I go with clear ones?? I have seen mixed reviews about these lights, the halo is not worth the price... Anyone seen a red CLK with black projectors, what that would look like?? if so PM

Thanks Devil
Devil, I thought you car had the black ones?? or is that just the picture? Do you know if you need to remove the front bumper on a 99 CLK to change these lights? I heard that it was only from 00 and up that you had remove the bumper in order to change out the lights...

Think its about time I posted here too, have been on the forums close to a year now. My car, on a wet tuesday evening a month ago :)

I just picked this bad boy up. My frist Benz but not Euro car. I really love this color for some odd reason, most find it ugly.

REALLY, it's a odd color... but make you stand out of the crow. have fun with the car
|
I like it when something about the car makes it stand out, the color of yours does exactly that, and after viewing your photographs for a little while, I understand why you like it. It actually is a very nice color.
What is the color called btw? Wobert |

Check your paint code if its 279 then its calypso green metallic. hard to see with the small chips but second chip on line two

I, too, like the "distinctive" colors (though I really love the black on black). That may be the first metallic green CLK I've ever seen. I agree that it's a bit shocking at first, but the longer you look at it the nicer it gets. :)
Here's mine, in 'Amethyst Blue'. My wife bought it a long time before we got together. Just to keep the thread moving
Did a 6 hours detailing job today on the benz. I'm no professional detailer, but here's the result. :) Washed with Waxco No Spot shampoo twice. Meguiars clay and waxco no spot shampoo as lubricator Meguiars cleaner wax, 2 coats Meguiars quick detailer for windshield I wanted to bring her out for a quick photoshoot, but unfortunately it rained right after i finished. oh well, i'll edit this post with full body shots tomorrow! http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/8...2008284fu1.jpg http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/9...2008283ef1.jpg http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/4...2008280mt7.jpg http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/225...2008282hu0.jpg the driveway isn't fully shielded, so the car took a little splash from the downpour. CLK 320 the way i bought it + AMG wheels
here's mine with a big thanks to nastyclk for selling me his boring, old AMGs! compared to what he's cooking up with his car i'm sure they are "boring." i'm still trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to get the AMG body kit, although i kind of like how the car looks right now.

Here's my freshly purchased CLK 320 MY2000. Haven't really done much of anything to her yet, but right up there is the purchase of a set of fine rims.
Got it from a 72yr old man who owned it since it was 3 years old, 90.000 miles (150.000kms) on the clock as of now. Feels like the best deal i could ever get on a CLK in this price range! |

85K miles and is flawless. I bought a bumper to bumper warranty on it so at the slightest squeak, it goes in to the shop. My wife and I fight over who gets to drive it and the loser has to drive our W211 E-Class. |

Car sits good in the picture. As for the shake I have the same problem around those speeds some people say from warn out parts some say from wheel balance not being correct. I believe mines had a slight shake before the wheels so I will replace warn parts in the in the next month or so. |

- Wood steering wheel and shift knob (eBay) - Non-smoker storage instead of ashtray (OEM) - Daytime LED running lights (Ikea, modified) - Removed badge on trunk lid (floss and polish) - AMG pedals (eBay) - Few brightwork accents: - Chrome shifter surround (eBay) - Shortened interior mirror stalk (sweat and tears)- Chrome door lock knobs (eBay) - Polished aluminum gauge rings (eBay) - Polished aluminum trunk handle accent (eBay) - Red LEDs in mirror as ambient light (Fry's) - LED bulbs in door lamps and glove box (eBay) - Additional lights in trunk (OEM with LED bulbs) - Cargo net (OEM for W210 wagon with custom mounting points) - White side markers with chrome bulbs (eBay) - Probably a dozen more minor improvements I do not recall right now... https://mbworld.org/forums/members/j...k430-front.jpg https://mbworld.org/forums/members/j...lk430-rear.jpg https://mbworld.org/forums/members/j...0-interior.jpg And yes, I do love this ride :bump: very nice |

Is it allowed to put your car as wallpaper on my pc?
Man this is the most gorgeous car I have seen around. Its by far the most elegant modded car I have seen. I am looking for a CLK and if I get one, there is nothing else to do than make her just like yours... (Can I mod a CLK 230 compressor just like this one?) It is just perfection! Only I would debadge the BRABUS marker and the 'sticker' on the left. And put some other rims underneath it (never been into black rims. Your car is the first one who made me feel it is ok to have black rims...) This ride is more than sick. Really, I really really love your car !

Changed out my 19's for 18's. I didn't quite like the way the car rode with the 235 35 19's plus the tires are shot, so instead of buying another set of tires I bought these Brabus mono VI reps with 225 40 18's and the ride is a lot smoother. If anyone in AZ is interested in my LM5 Reps send me a PM.

Tint in front 35%, rear 20%. and yes ..Im rockin on 17" OEM MB sport wheels. |
Thanks to everybodies input from this forum I was able to finally get the look I was looking for. The car is dropped with H&R sport springs with Bilstein sport shocks. I went with the number 1 pad all around the car. I'm rocking 19s 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the back. The ride is stiff but so much better than bouncing all over the place. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...tin/CLK430.jpg

So I haven't yet properly introduced my car around here. So here we have her. Once prior to washing. I took a train to NY to get her, and ended up spending 8 hours driving back to MD due to a wreck on 95 in New Jersey. Plenty of time to get acquainted with it. Then after her first wash.

^^ brabus monoblock VI. They are all over this forum and there are sponsers here that sell replicas... Just ordered my set from www.oewheelsllc.com (in the vendor directory) for my w203. Great looking wheel for the c/clk IMO.

also since you painted the roof, maybe smoking the turn signals on your tail lights would tie the car together. |

I didnt paint the roof. i had it wrapped to see what it looks like. Im gonna do the rails when i paint it. my car is silver. I would have smoked the tails, but I like it when the 5-0 doesnt pull me over for nonesense.
|
I like the roof. I vote that you paint it. I was just asking if your car was silver from the factory, which I don't think it is. From the factory, the side-rails on the roof are black, but most body shops will paint those with the rest of the car. Also, aren't the bumper strips darker than the rest of the car from the factory?

Bumper and door strips are darker/different color only on pre-facelift models. Facelift models came color-coded from factory. And a lil pic of my ride: http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/9686/img2126x.jpg |

Not the nicest backdrop, but here is a pic of a 2002 CLK 430 I just bought and tuned for my girlfriend. Eibach springs, bilstein HD shocks, 19 Merc knockoffs, Singh Autosport software, cat-back exhaust. Running #1 pad in the rear, but installing #3 to lift it a bit more in the rear to even it out. Clear corners on order. And probably need a small spacer in the rear.

Thanks! Suspension is Eibach with Bilstein Heavy Duty (not the stiffer Sport) shocks. Spring pads are #3 in the rear and I believe #3 in the front. It rides incredible; firm but not harsh. Wheels are Mercedes CLS 55 knockoffs; 19x8.5 and 19x9.5. Not exactly sure of the offset - need to look on the inside of the wheel.
I ordered a rear camber kit to get the camber to -2.0 degrees; it is -3.25 degrees now. Also needs a small spacer in the rear; about 10mm to 12mm depending on how far the camber kit pushes the wheel towards the fender. |
