Here is mine...

Thinking about black projector lights... or should I go with clear ones?? I have seen mixed reviews about these lights, the halo is not worth the price... Anyone seen a red CLK with black projectors, what that would look like?? if so PM

I think you should go with the clear ones...unless you plan to put more black accents on your car. Updating the lights will make your car look even nicer than it looks now.

Thanks Devil

Devil, I thought you car had the black ones?? or is that just the picture? Do you know if you need to remove the front bumper on a 99 CLK to change these lights? I heard that it was only from 00 and up that you had remove the bumper in order to change out the lights...

just a small warning i would purchase the LED taillights before you smoke your tails. i havent yet so ive met a lot cops and sheriffs as a result. the illumination of the tails isnt brite enough which is a driving hazard especially during the day in the sunlight. as for the procedures of smoking them. its a can of taillight spray. the more sprays the darkers they get. obvioulsy removing the tails to lay the paint down is recommended rather than doing them while there on the vehicle. if you want to have the reverse lense clear like mine you just need to mask it off very carefully and even with the opposite lense. laying a couple sprays of clear will keep them from dulling also. i buffed them after they were all dry too. THE END!

I do have the black projectors. That pic in my sig is old. I need to change it. I would think that you would need to take off your bumper to change out the lights. But not sure, there's a couple of guys on here who have a '99 with updated headlights, just do a little searching to find out. But your car would look sick with the black projectors.

They are projectors that I bought from a groupbuy on benzworld. You can buy themon ebay now. They were pretty easy to install. We just had to do some re-wiring because I have stock HID on the car, and I wanted to use them with projectors. Let me know if you have any more questions, I can try and help

Lower it down with H&R springs and #1 pads, change the head light housing, and you good to go
