Lightbulb Amg Exhaust on CLK 430?
Has anyone put a CLK55 exhaust on a 430? Is there a noticeable sounds difference? I'm not looking for loud, just a little deeper note.

white 2001 CLK 430 coupe
I will be doing this soon. Although a bit pricey ($1900 CDN) I have heard it on a 430 and it does sound very nice. No louder at normal revs (say under 3000) but more noisey than stock at higher RPMs (also deeper and "nastier"). I also was looking for a slightly deeper exhaust note, but not louder than stock, and removed my resonator and replaced it with straight pipe and have been very pleased with the result. I'm now looking for a bit more performance and the different exhaust note (plus I love the look of the AMG exhuast) which is why I'll spend that stupid amount of money for it.

Where do you get your AMG exhaust from?
Are you going to remove the resonator?

Tea, if you want a really nice deep growl, do not get the AMG exhaust; it is too restrictive. I bought the RBtech exhaust and resonators for $1400 and it has a very deep sound and adds a few bhps. If you live in San Francisco, I can let you hear it on my 430.

Cool RbTech Exhaust
This Rbtech Exhaust you guys are talking about. I am just wondering if i want to change to that exhaust, is it a whole exhaust system? How much does it cost, and do you have to get anything else other than the exhaust system? and how much for that thing. Thanks

The Rbtech exhaust costs 1499 dollars. It comes with the muffler and a pair of resonators. Additional pipping is required though (I paid 180 dollars for the install incl. pipping). No other modifications are required (at least on a CLK430/55).
