Rattling from underneath

My car is rattling from under neath when the engine is revved a little up to 1500-2000rmp. You cant hear the noise from the engine bay but when u put ur head near the side skirt it is very loud.

Any ideas anyone???

THanks for any help

Check the large splash guard (the one you remove to change the oil). I had one loose screw and it was making a hellacious rattle.

2002 CLK430 Cab
Rattle under car

My CLK430 cab had a very similar problem. Turned out the catalytic converter was bad. (Internal failure?). Anyway, it took about 5 days to get one, and was repaired under warranty.

Oddly enought I am having the same problem, except mine doesn't do it all the time. I thought it was a loose exhaust hanger but I will have them check it.

My buddy's CLK was rattling under certain revs and the it turned out to be a loose heatshield. Got it taken out for $5 - problem was gone.
