Well this took forever to get as they're very difficult to obtain and ship, but I just picked up my Euro-spec trunklid for my CLK. This will allow me to fit a Euro Plate as the plate space is wider.

No pics yet as I still have to paint and install it, but they'll come soon. :0)

Uh, stupid question but why do you need a EURO plate? Aren't you in CA? How much was it?

The same reason I need Euro Spec headlights, Euro Spec COMAND, Euro Spec Airbag, Euro Spec Impact Strips, Euro Spec Ashtray Delete, Euro Spec Folding mirrors, and most of my other mods - cause they're COOL :0) I'm always trying to do something different; that no one else will have and the Euro trunk is great cause you'll virtually never see a CLK in the states with one. Having all the Euro Spec stuff is mainly for show. On the street I'll run my US plate over my euro one (both say the same thing) but I'll be able to take the US one off at shows, just run the euro one and complete the euro look.

Josh, don't know if you have ever seen this, I believe it was an e46 M3 with a euro trunk, he made his cali plate elongated (retangular) shape to look exactly like a euro plate, while retaining the white background and California still on it. I could not get a close up look of it nor pics, as he was driving ahead of me in the melrose district....that may be a cool option.....

wat? i see W208 CLK's with Euro trunks all day in LA.. .you must look the other way everytime there is a CLK on the road...

It's basically just a leather airbag that isn't AMG or a Designo color. It was part of a Euro only option package.

I forgot how much they are but they're not expensive at all.

Install doesn't take long. The ashtray assembly is held in by 2 screws.

Josh's CLK has some of the coolest mods available IMO
If he's doing something to his car, odds are it's gonna look good.
