Well the mother of the one survivors looks of Asian origin...and it looks like (in the photograph) the owner of the CLK is Asian if thats him...regardless of who it is, A death is a death, no matter who it was/is.

This is sad. I always drive past that section of Memorial Drive to get to the stealership on Route 28. This makes me think about my speed driving on Memorial Drive again.

Well, lets not jump to conclusions. Black rims on a black CLK are a pretty popular combo, and aftermarket exhausts arent that rare either. Boston is a pretty wealthy area too, so i would imagine there are several teens with CLKs in the area.

Sad if it's him, sad if it's not.

Even though no one is sure whether it's him or not everyone here seems to feel a true connection with a person most of us have never even met. That's a pretty cool thing.

Take the time to let those who give meaning to your life know how much you appreciate them.

Looks like it was him. If you do a search on google for sicrx65 a couple of sites talk about him and the crash. It's sad but ironic that in one of his posts https://mbworld.org/forums/kill-stories/113798-burned-bmw-330-last-night-vid.html someone says "Your an idiot plain and simple. You could have been killed/hurt...worse yet you could have killed/hurt somone else. Road rage isnt a good thing."

I've been talking with his friend for a few minutes....

Really cool guy, he was the one who survived. Asked me to post this...

We all at RCR are very spirited drivers but please...buckle up on behalf of Gil and your own safety.

The T-shirt thing sounds like a good idea Quoc. Get back at me about that. I'll send you some of my pics from then and now.

As far as services, I'll keep you guys posted and stuff. Gil's mother just called me to check on me and told me that the body has not been checked yet and will not be for awhile.

The car's condition itself was horrendous. It was totally damaged in every way and shape and form but fortunately the CLK had a really strong cabin and was intact.

Due to the media trying to hunt me down right now, I'm not gonna release any of the details over the net. If you guys want to know details, I'll tell you guys in person whenever we may meet up later on whether it be at the services or at another RCR meet.

Check my website to stay posted for details if you guys want the latest details because I update that page more often.

-Everyone stay strong and give their best wishes and condolences to the family whenever you get the chance.

-Peace

I was just alerted of this situation (thanks Josh). I have made the thread a sticky for all to see, and changed the title.

I ask all of our members to PLEASE refrain from judgment at this time. As some of you may or may not no, I am normally pretty hard on people that brag about speeding and racing, but now is just not the time for it.

It's very sad to lose someone you know through a tragedy. My thoughts and well wishes are with the family of Shin Gil Hong.

If anyone here is in touch with family or friends of Shin's, and there is a charity we can donate to in Shin's name, please post the info here.

Thanks.

condolenses to his family.

If he had a seatbelt, he would have never been thrown out or around the car. He probably would have came out with a few scratches. The safety of the mercedes is amazing, the cabin didn't even cave in after multiple roll overs.

Ahmen to Mercedes technology as long as we use it the right way. Seatbelts are a must.

While the MB cabin stayed intact, if he was "partially" thrown from the car (most probably the reason he is no longer with us), the door must have got cranked open at some point. Not an uncommon occurrence with high impact accidents.

Something to remember for those 100% against seatbelts.

I read that the only person who survived the crash that claimed Lady Di's life had worn a seatbelt too. The other occupants chose not to put them on and they all died that night.
