Talking Confirmed – AMG owners club/Mercedes Trip 2002.

Hi All,

Been really busy recently, still writing up the report from my trip to Bremen last week.

Thought I’d just post this quick note to let you know that due to our ‘quick poll’, Mercedes Germany have given us the go ahead and we have successfully gained 16-18 places for a trip to Stuttgart next year.

This will include:

· Visit to AMG Plant and facilities
· Meeting with AMG personnel for Q & A session
· Visit to the Mercedes S, CL and Engine/transmission factories
· Visit to the Porsche museum/possible factory
· Visit to the Mercedes museum
· Possible track event using some ‘borrowed’ vehicles
· Visit to the Stuttgart Annual Festival (non MB!)
· 2 –3 Free days for your own pleasure etc.
· Hotel and most meals included.

Celeste (ex Mercedes rep) will be organising the whole of this trip for us, and she is absolutely excellent at doing this. Celeste has organised both of my trips and does a wonderful job each time.

Celeste will be getting together some details soon, and organising an itinerary together with MB Germany.
Estimated dates are at the moment end of April start of May 2002. Hope this fits in!

Watch this space for more info!!

Regarding the AMG Owners Club, I am awaiting contact from the rep who looks after the USA side of Mercedes in Germany, who seems to think she will be able to help you guys on that one.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !!!!!

Awesome job Matthew!

Well, you know I'm in (subject only to the then-current status of 'the war' and its ramifications at that time). I can't wait till we have more details so I can start making all the plans.

Let me know if you need any help or coordination from here in the States, it would be my pleasure!

Thanks again for all your effort ... this is all very exciting!

Cheers,

BTW: How'd the pictures of Celeste come out?

Hi Maff,

Thanks for your efforts! I wlll be in the "neighborhood" (Belgium)
during the timeframe you mentioned and if the final date coincides with my trip, I'd like to attend. Will you be putting out an update memo? Do you need a deposit? Please advise. Thanks!

Drew - no problem. we may need some help in arranging things state side - thanks for your offer of help!

Brian Yee - Updates will probably be coming just after the New Year from Celeste. I guess it will be on a first come first served basis, with full payment the month before the trip. (That’s what happened with the trips I went on anyway).

Regards,

Thanks for the info, Matt! One last question; over approximately how many days will this event encompass?

Regards,

Exclamation Trip Details Are Here!!

Hi All,

Celeste works quickly! Well, she has managed to plan nearly the whole trip before the holiday season - makes a good present for someone!

I have included below the rough itinerary, however all the items are a lot more involved than what they appear - such as the factory’s only mention the name, however more than one item goes on at that factory (such as engines, transmissions, S and CL etc).

Celeste has calculated the total cost to be roughly £1300 ($1800?) per person, excluding your own air fare - but this includes all meals at top restaurants, 4 star accommodation and an amazing experience. I know I have been on the trip twice already, and I've already decided I'm going on this one too! Celeste wouldn't need any funds until a month or so before the trip.

If you would like to come, we need to get some names etc before we submit it to MB. Drop me an e-mail, Matthew@Nint.biz and we can start to collate some names etc on a first come first served basis. We only have 18 places for this trip.

There's lots more detail I could write, so maybe we could set up a 'chat' session to answer any questions and go over some items in the new year.

Here's the main details:

Sat 20 April 2002
19:30 Welcome reception
20:15 Dinner in Hotel

Sun 21 April 2002
AM Tour of Stuttgart (2 hours)
Lunch ****er Turm in Esslingen
PM Visit to Mercedes-Benz Museum
Dinner Meiers in der Alten Kanzlei

Mon 22 April 2001
AM Tour of Mercedes-AMG factory
Lunch Eduard M
PM Tour of Classic Centre
Dinner in one of the beer tents at the Spring Festival

Tues 23 April 2001
AM Brief visit to Marbach
Boat trip along river Neckar
Lunch Schreyerhof - buffet
PM Visit to Ludwigsburg palace
Dinner Webers Gourmet im Turm (in TV tower)

Wed 24 April 2002 Free day

Thurs 25 April 2002
AM Tour of Sindelfingen factory
Lunch DaimlerChrysler Guest Restaurant in Untertuerkheim plant
PM Tour of engine factory
Dinner Weinstube Adler including wine tasting

Fri 26 April 2002
12:00-14:00 Lunch in Hotel restaurant
Guests return home

If you feel we need to change something, now's the time to say!

Hope this is what you guys are after, and questions just let me know!

Cheers, Matt.

Forgot to mention that this includes unlimited drinks as well, and if the demand was great enough, Celeste could arrange a visit to Porsche on the free day?
