Must Have Mods

Can someone please break it down to me what are the must have Mods on an 2002 Silver CLK?

I know rims and tires are big. I'm thinking of starting out there first. But if there is a better starting point I'd like to know.

What are everyone's recommendations?

TIA,

1. Are you working on a budget?
2. Are you looking for aesthetic mods or performance mods or both?

1. Regarding the budget I'm just going to purchase one thing at a time type of deal. I don't want to go buckwilde and drop a few thousand and can't buy a coke at 7-11

2. I'm looking for both.

Thanks.

If that's the case. Typically to start off with is the wheels and suspension. Then you can either go with the soundsystem or engine performance. Again it depends on how much your budget is. How much is your budget if you don't mind me asking? And which way are you leaning more towards...looks or performance?

I'm leaning more towards looks at this point and then I'm going to work in the performance. But the one thing performance wise I'm really interested in is an exhaust system. I want an exhaust that makes my car sound more of a muscle car when I start it up and when i'm driving at slow speeds as well as fast speeds. But I'm thinking more of looks at this point to start.

My budget is $5k

I hope your budget of $5k is NOT for everything because that's not going to get you very far. For exhaust go with Eisenmanns Race System! I believe there's sound clips on their site for you to check out. Hope that helps. Good luck and post some pictures pls.

Nope, not entirely my budget.. That's going to be my budget for my rims and tires. I think i'm starting there because my factory rims look like poo poo and all 4 of my tires are ready to be replaced anyday now.

But the next thing is the exhaust. What types of rims and tires are popular on this site?

Thanks,

$5k rims and tires budget.

Most popular are the HRE's and then for tires Michelin PS2's. But since your budget is $5k go with the HRE 440 series and Bridgestone Pole Position SO3's.

1. Wheels (take your time, it's a one shot deal) $2000 give or take
2. Suspension $300
3. Exhaust $450 used-$750 new
4. Tints $200
5. Body kit $1500
6. Forget engine mods with your budget ($200-$500 to gain a couple of horses aint' worth it imho)
7. AMG 55 badges $20
&. Then you can get to work on interior

I'm giving the thumbs up to the new kit by europassion. Mine was a very good fit, rear bumper and sideskirts needed minimal alteration. I ordered together with a guy named Wil (wmr120) from the other site. You might want to try and contact him as well.

the must have mods are the mods you want that will define your personality and desires... everyone has different taste... just be yourself and get whatever you like...

That's the thing, I'm new to mod'ing so I'm just trying to find out what everyone is doing to trick up their ride. Either aesthetically or performance wise...

I think I'm going to start with looks over performance because the car is pretty good on its own. I've seen people doing things with their lights, paneling etc.

Anyone have any suggestions for ground effects etc? Right now I have the AMG package on my 430. But i've seen a few pics with people tricking out the fenders, spoilers etc. Anyone have links for that? Or better yet is there a thread here for all links regarding the best 3rd party products?

Thanks again guys...already i've learned a lot being a first time Mercedes owner.
