i don't think MB build cars any differently for their overseas markets. MB's are MB's, exclusive and prestige. Thats what u pay for wherever u are in the world.

What i would like to see my friend, is u posting your australian version of the beast we call CHEVEROLET LUMINA SS. These cars are soooo popular in this part of the world.

thanks

Your car looks like a normal CLK320 to me, just with the typical overseas gear (different wheels, fender badges, adjusted license plate frames, etc.).

Are other trim packages (Sport, Elegance?) available in Australia? Which do you have? I'm also unclear as to what's under the hood. Is it a 320? Also, you claim the '01s come standard with front and rear parktronic? I don't see any evidence of it being installed in either of those pictures. In the US, the mirror-housed turn signal repeaters came standard starting in MY2000. They're damned expensive, as I learned when mine were stolen a while ago .

Oh no... these pictures are not my car.
I was just showing the picture that American Model has different front bumper to the Australian......
The parktronic is standard feature for all 2001+ model in Australia.....

Actually, my car is a normal CLK320 convertible..... that's why I would like to see different body kits to upgrade.
I don't like the lorinser and Barbus body kit........ Just don't like "round" fog lamp.......

Also looking at changing a set of nice MAGS...

hahahah...

this guys is so use to seeing 430's and 55's with AMG styling kits on this forum that he thinks american spec CLK's all look like that!!

firstly.... AMG styling kits are different to the standard kits on the CLK for sure
secondly, pre 2000 models had different front aprons than the ones produced after 99! Whether elegance or avantgarde ( which was called SPORT before 2000)

either way my friend, CLK's out of the factory all look the same where ever they are sold to!

once again i will list the international specs for 208:

CLK200K to CLK430 Elegance ( 2000 onwards )

Chrome window and door handle trims
Standard suspension
Green tint
Bur walnut interior
Standard alternator

CLK200K to CLK430 Avantgarde ( 2000 onwards )

Body colored window and door handle trims
Sport suspension
Blue tint
Birds eye maple interior
Higher capacity alternator

CLK200, CLK230K to CLK430 SPORT ( pre 2000 )

Body colored window and door handle trims
Sport suspension
Grey tint
Carbon fibre interior
Ivory instrument cluster and red dials
Higher capacity alternator
Standard Gearbox ( no steptronic )
CLK55 AMG

Same as ever

Note: Changes in electronics and certain other functions were introduced every year. ( eg. gearbox, window gap, one touch sunroof.. etc. )

THIS GUY or THAT GUY, WHICHEVER GUY or WHATEVER GUY........ Just to "THE GUY"....

Q1) Most car picture in this forum is AMG ?
Front Bumper with small round fog lamp and Side Amber Flasher like the following picture?

If YES....., then
Q2) US Standard/Normal Bar - Not round Foglamp and WITH Side amber Flasher like the following picture?

If YES....then
PLEASE NOTE and LEARN !.... Australian Standard Bar... No side Flasher, see previous post pictures....(Which means that technically standard AUS front bumper is DIFFERENT to USA)...... Play "Pick the defference" before? teach in Kinder or primary depends on which country your were/are in... some people in under-develop countries doesn't get the chance to learn "Pick the difference"...... I wonder where "THE GUY" come from? or his age?

cheers my friend.....

Boonchuah, you're an idiot. You're comparing apples to oranges, 320s to 430s.

In America, 320s come as yours does, except with different wheels. Get it?

The 430s and 55s have the ever-despised (by you only) "round" foglights, as part of the AMG body kit. It's the best looking kit I've seen for the car, personally. In other parts of the world, that's the "Avantgarde" package.

The fact that the US-spec cars have amber bumper lights is a DOT mandate. Apparently Australia's backward enough not to need those helpful safety items.

Stop nit picking and drive your car.

the only difference i've noticed ( which isnt even worth mentioning ) is that in the US spec, there are side flasher on the front bumper, where as other countries dont have. Simple as that. No other serious differences can be seen.... its not like the old days where american benz's had huge bumpers!!

thats all

ok I am glad that you can see the "small" different..... where as some people still said without flasher is "THE SAME" as "with flasher" !
======================================
Newbie, good on you! at least you call people by name! However you might need to learn about "politeness" and "respect for other"...... to start calling someone an "idiot" where as that person just simply express his/her view.....you are already acting like ONE.

I think that's probably why some country don't like the American becasue more and more American are becoming too aggresive and cannot accept other people's view point and they think that they are "SUPERIOR" and therfore they lose respect to others........I think the president and you clearly shows that.

Please..... Australia may be backward but the people here are much more "friendly" and "respectfull". Generally I think most people from "backward" country have more "loves" than people in "advance" country.... this is because people living in stress in advance country (watch discovery channel)

I think USA Education system need to be revise........ or something must be done to restore "LOVE and RESPECT for others" in America................

Please....... American, do not think that you are more "SUPERIOR" human species than others.... otherwise you are into the "BOX" and you start looking at other races as "little".....

Well... if what I said you cannot "AGREE" or "NOTED" ... then don't worry, lets drive on...............

Once again

Cheers my friend!

Hey Boonchuah, I appreciate the lesson on politeness, but I'd ask that you not generalize my behavior as being like most Americans. Perhaps this is the case to you, but I think it's foolish to label the way I am as being typical of Americans in general. I'm just insensitive, rude, and full of myself. I may feel that I am superior for no reason at all, but to assert that all Americans are the same... seems ridiculous.

But I can't disagree that we Americans, despite 9/11, are NOT friendly towards our fellow man, and that's a fault, in my opinion. Perhaps it's just my urban upbringing .

Dear Newbie!

It's great that you shows "loves" to your American fellows by asking not to Label "ALL" American as arrogant! GREAT!!

Offcourse I understand, I do not label people, I sees everyone as the same and I am always the first one to extend my arm for friendship and "hug"!!

Lets forget about the past and start enjoy driving our "MERCEDES"!!

Again.... cheers !!!

Regards,
Boon Chuah.

Dear Newbie,

I speak/talk better than I type...

My first language is not English, so may be sometimes I did not express myself well using English words..... but I try my best to make sure my message is interpret as what I intended during typing. Whether I am angry or happy or whatever feeling I had, I try to let the receiver know......
