generally people look for the item on ebay...
you will find a deal quite often compared to what the dealership wants to charge you

MAF $161 and also sell just the MAF insert for $65

Imports direct from Germany by-passing the middleman.

What OBCII codes did you have?

well the problem is...when I rev the engine it rocks side to sides. It happens only when rev to 3000 rpm and up. slow and fast rev same problem. The engine sounds like it's not getting enough air from the MAF. Not codes. This is the second times it happen. The last time was when the car had warranty which was last year of March. The dealer fixed the problem byt replaced the MAF than it was fine. Now it's doing it again. So it's the same problem. Are there codes I need to program? By the way I gave my CLK to my brother-in-law and I am trying to fix this for him.

No codes. Per MB, there is no problem, that's the way the w208s were designed. Going for an ECU remapping as a last resort...several people have indicated this works + you get some horses. PM me if interested.

Watch out for the cheap MAF sold in e-bay. They have the Bosch part number, but they are NOT BOSCH. I just received one today to change the MAF on the E-class and it just revved up and down and then engine would shut off. I bought it for $160, which I was told will be refunded fully. So I'm losing my shipping cost and I'm going to now need to pay overnight express for an original Bosch from another supplier. I really don't care about the few bucks. It's the time spent replacing the MAF, shipping back the copied part, and now having to wait again for the original Bosch.

I should have known to stick with Bosch since when I changed one on the C43, I didn't experience any problems.

Although they cost more, stick with the OEM stuff. It'll cost me $325 including shipping.

Diddo on the ebay problem. Seller Luckynat sold me one. I installed and the car ran like crap. Finally took it to the dealer and they told me it was the wrong one for that car (he probably sent me a 320 MAF). Seller (again, Luckynat) told me to return it to him. I did so, he tested it and told me that it worked fine in his car, but he has never refunded my money to this day. If you want to take your chances on quality, go for it, but stay away from Luckynat.

I have a new MAF for the V8, part # 0 280 217 810 if you'd like.

$150 shipped. It's not Bosch, but it works because I tested it out on my car. It comes with a 1 year warrenty, so save this thread and I'll honor the warrenty. Anyway, let me know if you are interested.
