damn! less than 2 weeks and ran into first problem already!!!!
my check engine light came on yesterday while I was driving (luckily on a small , non-busy road) and my car just died. I pulled over to the side of the road, put it in PARK, restarted the car and drove it home. On the way home, the car died again, and I had to restart it.
ANyways, I took it to a mechanic I know, and he replaced the MAF today for a pretty nice price =)
THe car is back up and running strong now.
Things like this remind me of why I got rid of my old 430...............

Whoa. Now I don't feel so bad. My Crankshaft Position Sensor went out on me 2 weeks in. I just got it back out of the shop yesterday ($290). They recommended changing the MAF but I'm going to the Caribbean Saturday so that'll have to wait till I return. I was quoted $560 for the MAF job. What did you pay for your MAF job? I'm wondering if you should have had your CPS swapped out while they were in there for the MAF?

Well, I'm hoping I can hook up with BlkBenzz who says he can change it out in a few minutes. How much is the part itself?

I really don't know what the breakdown of parts and labor was.....I just paid the guy $378 because I knew he hooked it up.
It's a relatively quick install....the mechanic took longer to get the part than he did to install it...lol....about a 5-10 min job.
