It's a common problem- I remember on the old CLK board people with '99s got them replaced by their dealers under warranty. I think they might have improved the attatchment for 2000, but who knows.
Anyway, try your dealer- maybe he'll replace it.
They often fall out after getting knocked loose leaving parking spaces- damn concrete blocks .

$300 bucks
Went down to the dealer and replaced the part for $300 bucks. It is called a toe lip and I recommend everyone with a clk
Take five minutes out of your day and tie it down. This can be done with those little plastic hooks. If your car is lowered like mine, it will save you some money. The dealer said it was very common.
Thanks for all of the response

god dammit, i went to eat about an hour away from my house and when i left i heard a scrape as i pulled out of the spot and i looked and i did not see and thing on the floor so i left. I finally got home and looked in the front of my car and i see the DAMM THING MISSING. i was so pissed so i drove back and went to the spot and did not see it, i walked in front of the spot where the little curb is and i see the peice on the floor. I took it and went on the hour drive home. In my garadge i was able to just snap it in. and now its on fine, so i dont need to do anything. why wasen't yours able to snap back in? and how can i tie it in from hapening again? besides i am not going to pull that far up, i never do but i was not paying attention.

Very Lucky
Your Mercedes dealer will tie it on with a special cord. I encourage everyone to get this done when your car is in for service. When it is gone the car is a real eye sore.
But I’m very glad to hear that you found it. You just saved $300 plus.

No, mine fell off because of a curb. They are almost impossible to break. Your dealer should know what your talking about. Just in case the part is called a "toe lip" and I think the part number 208.
