you want to "drop it to the lowest gear" on the highway? that's like driving a stick shift car on the freeway going 70MPH, and then down shifting it to 1st gear...... use some common sense..... what do you think will happen?

I can tell you the powerplant is very robust. You can drive it very spirited if you wish.
About the tranny, it will not let you shift to a low gear if you are going faster than permitted speed. If you want to put the car in optimum (acceleration) gear, simply hold the gear lever to the left for 2 seconds. Now personally I would refrain from doing it too much, but what do you think it's there for in the first place?

Rule of thumb - the harder you push things, the faster they wear out. When things wear out, they break sooner. Simple physics.
Now, a lesson in economics - When things break on an Mercedes, you'll experience a phenomenon called "distribution of wealth." That is, money will magically move from your bank account to your dealer's service department's bank account.
This ends today's lesson. What you want to do with this knowledge is up to you.

Look just your drive the hell out of your car. At 22 years old how do think I drive mine? I've never really had issues with it. It always seemed, especially when I worked at the dealer that younger people didn't have to many problems with their cars like the older crowed did. I always figured that maybe the younger people were driving the cars the way the were meant to be driven.

Dude, I don't make it a habit to race my benz, but when the time comes that someone wants to play, I do. The car looks nice and fancy and rather quiet, but its not! its pretty fast and im sure it can take the beating because these things are monsters. Bimmers look sporty and fast so they give themsleves away, but MB likes to keep it on the DL. My step-father is Italian and he told me that it will not get hurt and that most of the euros were built for high revs.
