I noticed on mine the rubber hose that runs to the MAF from the head was loose. It appears the heat off the header bakes the tube and it get's hard and backs off the MAF/throttle body.
Remove the top panel with the air cleaners in it so you can get a good look down in there, and find the 1 in diameter tube coming off the drivers side head and running to just under the MAF connector harness. Make sure it is snug. It appears as if it (the MAF assembly) can move when the air element is not attached and when replacing the air filters you can get it to wiggle loose.
When I shoved mine back on the car perked up a lot when cold, but I still have my bogging, loss of power, at half throttle or more when the car warms up. Likely I need a MAF, or my TB has become dirty from this tube being loose.
I'll know more tomorrow when I can get a good look in there. It's coooold tonight.
Also, if anyone knows..... the MAF assembly connects to the back of the motor and I noticed where it connects to the motor it can be wiggled a LOT (like it does not have a solid connection) Is this normal? (we are speaking of the piece under the MAF going into the block)
The most weird part of my problem is that I can put my foot down 3/4 of the way taking off and it will lack power then all of a sudden burst open with insane amounts of power from that point on with the pedal still at 3/4 way.
anyway, the MAF number for the CLK430 is bosch sensor 0 280 217 810
