I've seen the grill changeover, and looks excellent.

I'd like to be able to use the chrome trim moldings and the front bumper (is there a replacement front that looks like it?)

I love my CLK, but I prefer the front end of the CL. Anyone doing any bolt up conversions with the front end?

CLK 430 Coupe
I have seen a thread where another forum member informed us that you are able to buy trim pieces for your CLK that have the crome on them from the dealer. He also said that they were outrageously expensive

Expressions makes a hood and grille like the previous generation of the CL, where its just the lines and the star without the outer molding.

actually that looks like the samed grill that I have (except mine has an opening for the hood latch)

and I purchased mine off of ebay about 6 months ago, but I paid almost $300. I don't mind though, the paint is a perfect match and it accomplished what I wanted.

Keyless Go is the one feature I'd snag from the CL...

The frameless windows, the nicer seats, the kompressor motor... maybe I should go look at a CL55... hopefully it's more reliable than the CLK55.

Nothing major, just disappointing compared to my old Benz (W124).

To list a few:

Rattles&Squaks (both front seats, where the door windows meet the rubber seal at the top, the driver's side C-pillar, the passenger door)

Cracked dash where the passenger airbag 'cutout' is (I'm gonna live with this since it's not warranty item)

BAS/ESP lights came on a few times (they're addressing this as we speak)

The driver's window comes back down after it reaches the top when I use the express-up (they're addressing this too - hopefully it's simple)

The windows don't roll down a bit when I open the doors.

There's a slight clunking from the left front suspension, even though it hasn't done that in a while.. so I let it be. Wear and tear I suppose.

The key failed to work a few times.. (I'll live with this one too, it's not a big deal)

The drivetrain emits a slight clunk when I accelerate after letting off the gas (happens at lower speeds) - gonna live with this one too.

Slightly lumpy idle - I kind of accept this as normal. But, I'm gonna replace the spark plugs and fuel filter as part of maintenance this winter...so hopefully that'll help.

Other than those current issues:

The dealer has:
Replace the driver's side window regulator
replaced the MAF
Padded the creaking dashboard
Replaced a broken dashboard vent.

Nothing major, they add up though that I enjoy driving the C280 loaner more than it..

Oh well, good thing that a few quick acceleration runs and the sound of the exhaust make up for some of the dissapointment!
