Hey tlsimon, what dealership did you check with? (I'm in MD too) and did you give them just the part numbers mentioned in the first post?

Just make sure you give them the part #'s I supplied, don't tell them its a key until they give you the price. Then tell them to order it for you. Make sure you follow those directions!!!!!!

I checked with the annapolis dealership but did not get the key. They gave me the price over the phone and in person when he was doing the paperwork I guess he noticed that it was a key and then he goes to the back to talk to the parts manager I can see him but I can't hear him they were back there for about 10-15 mins. He comes back to tell me that he needs to check the vin on my car I show him my car he doesn't even check the vin my front window is tinted. Then he starts doing the paperwork then he tells me that the key will be $258 total for both parts then I tell him that he gae me a different price over the phone and when I got here he tells me that he made a mistake. We go back and forth for a while then the parts manager comes out and ask what the problem was it was pretty loud I tell him that his pats guy must of been smoking crack trying to sell me a key for $258 when he told me on the phone it was only 82.60 + 9.75. The parts manager looks at the paperwork and tells me that the keys are all that price. My exact words "dude both of you must be smoking some crack. I saw the ****ing price on the computer when he pulled it up the first time." They looked at me like I was stupid. I told them both to have a nice day and I left. I didn't get the key.

that's unfortunate.....that you had to spend the time go through all that and to
walk away emptyhanded. are you going to try the mail order route now?

I too ordered mine today. I only got one key with the car and was worried that it might get lost or damaged. I did contact my dealer, previous to this post, and was told that the key would be about $280.

Needless to say, $61.58 is much better. Geezy, you are my new hero!

So, I tried ordering it online at the oemparts website you guys mentioned and it is coming up as $114. I called my local stealership and when I gave him the part #, he said it was $58. But THEN, he said, Oh, it subs to another number ending in 9999 and that is $140. I said, can't you just order it without the 9999 and he said NO, he cannot, it will get rejected and he won't do it. JERK!! I guess I will try other local stealerships...

I shouldn't have waited!!

Looks like they (oempartsdirect) finally figured out what is going on. They just jacked the price of the key up $60. It's now $114.00. I hope everybody who checked out this thread ordered their keys early. I figured it wouldn't take long before they figured out something was going on. So, for everyone who got their keys......awesome. For those who didn't.....You snooze you lose.

You can only remove the blade on the new key. It definetaly doesn't go forward like your key. That is a 99 or older key. None of the new keys do that. Move forward that is. When I say 99 an older, I mean any car made in 99 even if yours is a 2000.

Yo AMGEEZY I dunno if you my earlier post but I'm a little late, could I still be able to get one following the steps? I know the price gone up but I know this is still the cheapest way, right?
