"Paintless Dent Removal"

I accidentally backed my car into the garbage can today and caused a smalll dent on my car. It hurted and still hurts. There appears to be no paint damage except for an ungly dent.

I vaguely remember at an MB dealership, they were advertising "paintless dent revomal." I never looked into it because there was no need before. But from the sound of it, it seems like there is a way to remove it without having to sand the paint down and repaint the car.

Is there such a magical procedure?

Is it possible or better to just hammer it out?

Thanks for your help.

If the dent is not too big, paintless works well. They use magnets. It's great for dings. Not sure how big a dent is too big.

I knew a guy that pushed them out from behind. Had a whole gaggle of weirdly bent steel rods that fit between a cars window glass and body moulding amongst other body parts. I hadda give em credit, he had it down to a science.

I looked into this paintless dent removal.

It does exist!

Now my question is does anyone know a good paintless dent removal company in the San Francisco Bay Area, more specifically in the East Bay Area?

The dealers all have arrangements with competent PDR specialists. Just tell your service advisor you want a ding removed at your next visit. It's good for them to have some skin in the game.

Exactly. I had a dent before the plates on the car. Dealer had someone remove it for $129.00 dollars. It is perfect - you cannot tell it was ever dented. Price seemed a little high, but it was worth it to have a dent less car!

There are quite a few in the bay area. You can look it up in the yellow page. There is one call dent wizard and another call dent pro. I'e never tried it out but my brother have used them. They do a very fine job and you will be amazed on how fast and well it comes out.
