I did some work on my 430!!! Brake paint and rear diff seal

Well after all the talk about my rear diff seal leaking, I finally got tired of it so I went to the stealership here in Germany and they wanted 600 euros (800 dollars) to redo my seal!!!! Needless to say I walked out without getting it done but one of the mechanics saw my ride and asked me about it cause it was US spec and told me he really liked my car and told me to keep it for a while because it would be a classic!! Anyway the guy then took my car to a lift and showed me exactly what I needed to do on the rear diff to do the work myself!! It is very easy and if anyone needs to know how to do it let me know and I will do up a how to. I have before and after photos!! I didnt have the camera with me at the shop so I couldnt snap any during photos.

And I also painted my calipers red so I wanna know what you guys think!! I actually think I should have gone silver???

I bought a caliper paint kit locally here in Germany. It looked like the same kit they sell in Walmart though just a differnt brand of course. It came with 3 cans:

1. Brake cleaner
2. Red paint can
3. Paint hardener

I prepped my brakes using a drill and wire brush attachment. They were bright silver and they looked awesome and was even thinking of leaving them just like that but ended up painting. Thats why I am thinking twice now. The paint is glossy though and has a very hard finish so it should last. I mixed the hardener with the paint and while it mixed properly I used the brake cleaner to get any last minute grease and brake dust off. All in all it took about 5 hours but I was very careful so I might have taken an extra 2 hours just painting slow as hell.

I need a BBK but this will have to do for now!!

He showed me how to do it and told me that he understood that it was expensive and that since I knew how to owrk on cars he would show me how to fix the seal. He was cool as hell!!!!!!!!!! I asked him if he liked Crown Royal and bought him a BIG *** bottle. I took it to him later and he said that if I had any more probs with the car to just go to him first. This is a friend that I will take care of from now on LMAO!!!

So you took the break caliper off totally or did it with the break line still attached? Was it a spray paint or brush?

I did it with it installed and used a brush on paint. I did 2 thin layers and then 2 thicker layers and they shine like crazy now!!! Everyone says they look bad *** now and makes the car look newer in my opinion but that may be because it used to have a snall thin layer of rust build up and now its clean and red!! I love the way it looks and now I just need to do my back wheels.

By the way I had another problem with my ABS lights still going off after replacing the switch so the guy gave me some extra tips and it fixed my problem!!!!!!!!! This guy is BAD ***, he is one of the master mechanics at the dealership!!

These are the things he had me do to fix the ABS light problem:

1. Install new switch (did not do this since I just installed one 2 months ago)
2. Take the switch back out and pull the white switch all the way out till you hear a click, this is the clearance issue and the fix for it. (did this and heard
the click but the ABS light came on again after 2 days.
3. Disconnect battery and leave it disconnected for at least 30 minutes. (did this and the light has been off for 3 days now) I will keep you guys updated on the fix!!
