My father is looking to buy either the SLK 200 Kompressor/SLK 280 or the CLK 200 Kompressor/CLK 280.

He's currently got a C220, which is a great car for business use, but he wants something with more power this time.

The seating isn't a problem, either 2 or 4 seats is fine. However, i was intrested to see what you guys would buy given the choice between the 2 different models.

Is the performance side/handling noticibly different between the two cars? He also spends a lot of time driving for business, London to Manchester etc regularly, will the SLK be suitable for long distance driving?

Dean: A lot of us aren't going to be familiar with those models. A CLK280? But you know what most of us are going to say! CLK w/biggest engine available!

Yeah thats the main problem over her in the UK, having a big V8 is too expensive to run, and the milage for busniess use makes the more powerful CLK's unpractical.

I'm gussing the majority of the highpower MB's live in the states then?

yup me 2, in the UK i wont get insured on anything more than a CLK 200 kompressor - and I drive it a fair bit so costs me 50 pounds sterling a week to refill - thats all most 100 dollars a week!!

so we are stuck with the lower engine models - would love to own a 430 or 55 - maybe in the next couple of decades eh

come on over to this side of the pond and have a drive, I will share!
