Passenger seats

Hello folks, My name is Lou. New here. Trying to find an issue with my girlfriend's CLK Cabrio's front seat. (passenger)
This thing got stock on flipped forward possition after her niece got off the back rear passenger and no way to make it work. I try looking for fuses and such, but didnt found any faulty ones.
Car is 2002 V8 with 78K Sport.

Any help is appreciated.

Lou.

Hi Lou, if the upper portion of the seat is tilted forward, the handle has to be lifted to retract it. If not, it's busted. If the electric motor has moved the seat all the way forward and it will not retract, there is a 25 amp fuse in the fuse box in the trunk under the false floor, next to the battery. At least, that's where it is in the coupe. IHTH

I had the same issue - there's a steel cable with a ball on the end that the lever is supposed to pull up and unlock the seat backrest from the flipped position. It's purely a mechanical thing; fuses won't help you.

What you need to do is remove the plastic handle and then remove the plastic surround that's around the hole where the handle goes. Once you have that, grab a flashlight and a screw driver and look inside. The steel cable with the ball on the end should go at the end of a metal bracket thats connected to the lever (so when you pull on the lever, it pulls the steel cable with it). I put some epoxy over where the ball hooks into the bracket and had no problems since

Oh, and btw, the fuse-box in the cabrio is under the hood. Hope it goes well.

My CLK driver seat is doing the same thing. Most of the time when I try to fix things I pay for it in the long run. Is it easy enough for the mechanically challanged
