For the people with CLK 55's.....

Have any of you got a video of your 55 accelerating? I'm trying to see how much difference there is between my 430 and a 55. I've been kicking the idea of upgrading lately, but I need to see a video of the acceleration difference to convince me it's worth the $$$.

My 430 from a 20 mph roll: CLICK HERE

I'd like to match that to a 55 doing an acceleration run if anyone would be kind enough to post one or go out and take one for me.

I don't really care about the seats, or the manual tranny difference since I have other 5 speeds, I am just looking for a little more juice without having to do a blower.

Obviously I'd like to see a car with few engine mods to compare to.

If your G-Timer will list your quarter mile trap speed, post that, and I'll tell you how much HP you're putting out.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupé
I can't give you a video feed, but I test drove two 430s and two 55s before making my choice. It's night and day. No question, getting the AMG 55 is way best bang for the buck if you want to upgrade the performance of a CLK. It's not just a question of more power, many other things in the car are improved as well.

The 55s are now in the sweet spot of depreciation -- it's a buyer's paradise with many good examples unless you get hung up on a rare color combo.

here some vids i made, the night one is the fastest and a standing start, the other is better quality but not as fast and an rolling start

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9IxHljGe-4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct-en21e3JU

yes i know i had ASR on in the night one, but i couldnt get a good start without it in the nighttime, and the day one ASR was on as well. ive tried a few starts with it off but i couldnt get the power down right. also it was in S mode for both vids

car is a 2001 CLK55 coupe, stock everything, and fairly new tires all the wind noise is from the sunroof
