Brake Squeaking?
I have replaced all break pads on my 99 320 pretty recently but it seems that every time i reverse my car out of my drive way in the morning (its about a ~35 degree slant) my brake pads squeak. But when I reverse out of it during the afternoon after the pads seem to have warmed up they dont squeak at all. Are they just cheap pads or did I do an incorrect install or is it just time to buy some new ones?

I've had this problem for some time too. I replaced my pads and rotors about 3 months ago and it's still happening :-( It especially sucks when you're in heavy traffic and people who have their windows down are staring at you. You know they're thinking, "this guy has a mercedes but is too cheap to fix the brakes..."

I'm doing the brakes on my car in a week or so and I have some questions for you guys who do your own brakes and whose cars squeal -
Did you put anti-squeal paste on the back of the pads? Did you clean the caliper before installing the pads? Did you clean the brake carrier before putting the caliper back?
FWIW, I've never thought the spray was any good. It seemed too thin to make a differrence.
On an semi-related note, I mic'd the rotors and it looks like they've got to be changed with every other set of pads. Is this what everyone else is seeing? Or are some squeezing three sets of pads in on one set of rotors?
Thanks
