Might as well stuff a 5.oL motor instead..

trans will need massive wiring harnesses/parts retrofits etc, for triptonic shifting...

totally not worth it....

then again I want to do a manual conversion and everyone else also said "totally not worth it"

Personally I wouldn't do it bro, waste of money & time you can invest into better things then swapping in a same motor...that's like saying I'll trade you my red apple for your shiny red apple...when really they taste the same.

If you were gonna get a engine swap, get yourself a 55 AMG one.

Paddle shifters has been a thought in my head for some time, I wonder if anybody did a paddle shifter conversion in their older CLK class, I mean it can't be THAT hard can it?

No it couldnt be that hard to do. You would have to take aprt your shifter, find the switches for the - and + on the touch shift assembly, and then run wires to the steering wheel. This way the left button would activate the shifter circuit in parallel for a downshift, and the right would be an upshift. Really would be easy, hardest part will be runnin wires, drilling holes in the wheel to accept nice feeling switches.

It has been done...and I was advised to do so by a Kleeman dealer here in Van Nuys CA 3 years ago but they have now closed and I'm uppset with that. He was telling me that I would be much happier with a 55 motor than installing a Kleeman Blower on my 3.2 because I would get more torque...and if I were to get an urge later on to install the Kleeman Blower set up on the 55 motor I would have a Monster that could kill a lot of top notch exotics. I'm not sure about all the nick nacks to make it all work but he said he would handle it all for a fair price and I trusted him to so because he had done this quite a few times already. To bad he's gone.

Ya that's F*** up! This guy was really cool and really new his sh+t. There just wasn't enough people installing Kleeman blowers here in the valley for him to stay in business. I really wish I would have had the money then to do the engine swap. All I had to do was buy the engine block and he would supply the rest because he had the parts. And this is another reason why I know that he knew how to work on Benz's because he had a w210 e class that had an American V8 350 cubic inch motor in it with a blower that was his daily driver. The car was a monster. I wonder where he's at now?

Damn dude...imagine...just imagine CLK FAN, if that guy was still around, how many people you know that can do that, just buy an engine block and bam the guy has all the parts you ever need and will supply you to make your car a monster...dood...but I woulda followed that guy around I'd get his number n everything to stay in contact, those are the kinda people you don't wanna let go even if you didn't know the guy, know what I mean?
