this whole situation with the seats has also raised another question to my mind. when you all move your seats back, do the headrest always extend also?? mine do and it annoys the sh^t out of me...

yup... i think its program to recognize that if the seat needs to move back that far, it must be trying to accomodate a taller person, so moving the headrest further up would be also appropriate in order to accomodate that person's positioning of their head

that's exactly what it's designed to do. the manual override they refer to is holding the headrest button down as you move the seat back. i've also set memory 3 (passenger seat) for seat back and headrest down so it's a one button thing for me.

My headrests move upwards when I move my seat backwards AND when I move it forwards. That is really annoying.

Also, my passenger-side rear seat entry lever disconnected itself so the seat won't automatically move forward when someone trys to get in the back.

it's not just for the CLK, it's every MB model with memory seats. The headrest move up whether you move the seat forward or back.

i'm not 100% sure this works or not, but you can try it. with the seat in normal reclining/seating position, move the seat forward until it reaches the front, keep holding the button. do the same going in the reverse direction. now try the lever again.

if all fails, take it to the dealer. its an easy warranty fix.

NEW STORY

i dropped my car off at the STEALERSHIP today for my routine oil change. since my last visit to the STEALERSHIP to have the rear sun shade worked on the fuse has blown twice again. i brought this up to my service advisor this morning. he recommended to have the entire motor and shade replaced as it was still under warranty. HOWEVER, my concern is not whether it will be fixed properly, but whether the STEALERSHIP and their incompetent technicians will disrupt any of my audio equipment as in my 15" sub and my rear deck speakers...

IM ASKING YOU GUYS, do you think i should let the STEALERSHIP fix the rear sun shade??? is the risk of the screwing up my > $7K system worth the benefit to fixing the sun shade??? my initial thought hell no! but this may be the last chance before my warranty runs out. my car now has 47,300 miles.... so its close...

WHAT TO DO????

Here's my take if you don't feel comfortable about this dealers techs try bringing it in to another closest dealer and see how good knowledgable they are. Would recommend House Of Imports but maybe to far from you. Just my 0.02

i think it should be ok... the speakers are not electrical, so unless they punch a hammer or wrench onto the cone, you should be fine... the sub, you should be able to just pull right out of the trunk... just make sure they don't damage your amp... other than that, i think you should be ok

Anyone know wher to disconnect the pass seat controller module?

was the problem fixed? yes, it was, but took an unnecessary two full days. was i pissed off? yes! did they comp everything in the end? YES! that still doesnt make up the amount of time i waited at the STEALERSHIP. the ONLY thing that made me feel better was checking out a SL 55 in the showroom...... [sigh]

at least it is all over... until next time.

Resurrecting this thread hoping that someone has come across or solved the problem with the sunshade...

I'm now the owner of brandon's (byip25) clk, and the sunshade problem has returned - I've replaced the fuse twice and both times the fuse blew when I try to open the sunshade. Any ideas as to what might be causing the problem?

At least the sunshade is now stuck in the closed position...
