Hi guys, My drivers window is acting funny. I hit the one touch to roll it up, it goes all the way up then goes down and stops leaving a two inch gap like it wants me to smoke a ciggarette or something

Has anyone had this problem? Any solutions?

Oh yeah, the passenger doesnt do this. Could it be a fuse or something?????

 

Try to reprogram your windows. with the doors closed, bring both of them down at the same time, do not use the one touch. when they are all the way down, push the window switch one more click, to the one touch and hold for 5 sec, then do it again while taking the windows up. put the windows up both sides at the same time without using the one touch, when they are all the way up puch up on the switch for the one touch and hold for 5 sec. That should do it.

Definately sounds like you need to resynch your windows. I had the problem with my sunroof a while back, where it would start to close, then stop, then back up and stop. After resynching it, it has worked perfectly ever since...

By resynch do you mean do what was suggested by droptop?

 

Also I almost forgot, my one touch sunroof works when opening it but the one touch doesnt work when closing. Is that just the way it is or can I also fix this?

There is no one-touch sunroof close feature for the W208, so unfortunately, no.

BTW, who's doing the O2 sensors and what are they charging? OEM sensors (dealer=$250 each?), or aftermarket? Are you having all 4 done? Thanks

 

Ahh thats sucks about the one touch close!

A local mechanic is doing the sensors. He quoted 3 of em at $202 and one which was more expensive at $259 for OEM's. All four should be installed in a couple of hours. I also had to get a new fan clutch installed and two spark plug wires and plugs. I cant wait to get it back, he's had it since Monday.

 

Well this sucks, I tried the method suggested to reprogram the windows (2X) and it didnt work. On a better note my car is purrin like a kitten after having it at a mechanic.

 

I dont know what to tell you. Mine had the same problem, I programed it and it works fine now. Were the doors both closed when you tried it?

 

The convertibles may be a little different. Try this. Lower the windows. Now, with the doors shut, press the up button and hold it. Continue to hold the up button after the window is completely up for 5 seconds. Did that fix the express feature?

 

Man, I tried it and it didnt work. I'm really stumped on this one

 

do it a couple of times over the next few days, happens to mine, and the resync doesnt always take on the first few times for me...but it does eventually..longest was 2 days of resyncing while at traffic stops i would try it a few times

just the side that is affected, they are independent of each other...

 

Have you tried fully open and close them with the remote?

 

Remote????? Not sure of the remote.

 

Unlock your car with the key button and hold the button down until the sunroof and both windows are fully open, then lock it and again hold the button down until sunroof and windows are fully closed.

using your key to open and close the windows will do nothing to resync your one touch features.

 

Yeah I tried it and it didnt work. This window deal pisses me off. Its raining like crazy here and I forgot about the glitch the other day and got my drivers seat pretty wet. It's okay though.

I'll continue trying to figure it out. Is there anything the stealership could do for me?
