dual lorinsers

i just got a super good deal on a second lorinser dual exhaust. does anyone know what all needs to be done to have a quad exaust setup?
also is there any way, besides removing the resonator (as i already did that), to make the exhaust any louder. i dont mean annoying honda loud, but louder than it is now. the lorinser exhaust note is so nice. i just wish it were louder.

I got your PM. If you want to go completly true quad it will cost you because it is difficult to do but it can be done with the right muffler shop.

But if you want to do what I did which is redirect your second outlet on your muffler if Lorinser does in fact have that second outlet...that is the inexspensive way to go and it still works by puffing out smoke. My Brabus muffler has twin outlets and what I did was have my local muffler guy push my muffler back and weld an extended left outlet with a dual tip custom fit to what he cut out on my Brabus rear bumper and with the right side he welded a custom bent extended tub and rerouted it to the other side to a cut out he made with another dual tip. Sounds complicated but the end result was satisfying and functional and didn't cost much $120.

are you saying he cut into your brabus muffler and ran a pipe from it to the right side?

He didn't cut into it...he welded custom bent tubing to the right side and cut into my bumper to fit a dual tip. I would have to take pictures for you to understand but if you do a search on the net for quad exhaust kit you will find these kits that do the same thing. MH Dezent has a kit for our cars and for the W209, check it out because that's what I did but on my own..I did'nt want to pay for thier kit.

Here's a link to their website but unfortunatly they have removed the pictures of the diagram of their quad exhaust kit. Kind of annoying that I can't find that diagram but rest assured that's what is behind those CLK's bumpers on the website. If you go to their gallery you will find more pics of the rear end but if you go to the W208 link there won't be as many to see.

I didn't lose power and the sound was slightly changed but actually for the better in my case. I don't have a resonator so the sound was loud already to begin with. I don't know what really happened but the sound was turned into something else than before... it sounds cool and different.

Its most likely the resonator that your talkin about. But a quad is not that hard to do, I had it done to my car too. All they do is run a pipe behind the bumper to the other side and make the cutout for the tips. I have my resonator removed and the 2 cats that are useless as well.

Which cats are useless? I'd like to come by your shop and have you point them out so I can remove them also. Did you get any increase or decrease in throtle response?
