Well just don't tint them too dark up front, but legally you can tint the backs no problem, so you dont have to worry yourself much s.f. your ride will sick too when you tint them, just go with a light tint up front and you got yourself one sick lookin CLK.

Why don't you? Front can be 30% which is more than enough, and back can be whatever you want.

Honestly, I thought 35% would be too light, but it's soo perfect, especially when its getting darker outside.

Both my friend and I tinted our windows yesterday. He picked me up around 6 ish today and when I came out, I couldn't even see him in the car. So you should def. consider getting some tint.

Oh btw, are you from S.F.? Because if you are, I swear I saw a car that looks exactly like yours around Geary/Clement.

Jessica...your car looks so much better now. its amazing how much difference just a simple tint job can do.

I got Suntek b/c my boyfriend is friends with a guy that does tinting, so he gave me a deal and Suntek was all they have. But I guess thats a good thing cuz if I went with the 3M and its darker then the Suntek then I'd have a hard time seeing out me 20%

Thank you!

I can't help but stare at my car everytime I'm walking away from it. It looks A LOT better.

Yeah you're right about the 3M 20%.

When I came to the tint shop and found out they didn't have 30% 3M, I was considering 30% Suntek for a min, but the guy reassured me that 35% 3M is just as dark as 30% Suntek if not darker. So I went with 35% 3M instead.

35% here

To quote the person that tinted the car "With the classy car like that, you don't wanna go any darker than 35%, because it will look ghetto"

I'm 35% on th CLK, all the way around. It has a charcoal interior, so it looks a little darker. Check the sig, my apologies for the small pic.

Oh Cali

Man, when I had my CLK in the Bay I used to get so much sh-t from the cops. Recently I moved to Las Vegas. I now I have 5% in the rear and 10% in the front for a nice fade. It's been about 6 months and I have yet to get any sh-t.

I'm hoping I won't get pulled over.
I checked the gov. websites and it said I can have 30% in the front and whatever in the back.

I put 35% all around, so I'm legal. I better not get sh*t from cops!

You know what you should do Jessica, IF they ever do pull you over, have a printed out copying saying they are perfectly legal (assuming that gov. website is legit?) Cause by law their saying 30% is legal, so they can't ticket you for that.

s.f.clk02, sorry to hear that man, I can see why your 50/50 on the tint, I was gonna say go with very light tint but then again don't even waste your money bro, you got better things to invest in then JUST to tint your ride, your clk still looks nice even without it cause I see how clean you keep it.

I didnt know you could have 30% in the front. Few years back I got a ticket with my camaro for tints and they were 35%. If I knew that I would have taken it to court and argued out of it. That why I figure if theyre gonna ticket me for tints, id rather put 5% so if I do get a ticket, then its worth it. lol.

Actually hold on,

This website says we cannot have tint in the front at all.

http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/streetlegal.html

"Tinting the front side windows and the windshield (except for a narrow band at the top of the windshield). Windows behind the driver's head may be tinted. If rear window is tinted, right-side mirror is required (26708 VC)."

Every other website I went to, says this, "Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in."

http://www.tintlaws.com/laws/CA/ is an example.

Unfortunatley before I got my windows tinted , I did not come upon this website
"http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/streetlegal.html"

35% isn't dark at all, esp. in the daylight, its pretty clear. At night it's pretty dark.

Last night I drove next to a few cops, nothing happened *knocks on wood*

Yeah, I think California Law states you cannot tint your front windows at all but people do anyways, but the sides you can but only like 50% or something, the rear you can tint them as dark as you like, NORMALLY cops don't like tint because they don't know if your smuggling something, doing something suspicious you know those kind of things, especially in a black car.

Damn, now I'm going to be very paranoid when I drive. It doesn't make sense, every website I went to says Cali can have 30% in the front, except that one website that I just listed. Hopefully I'll be fine, in the day time my windows are clear enough to see me 100% At night, its a bit more difficult.
