Window Tint

Hey guys,

I want to get my windows tinted next weekend and I'm considering 25%.

Anyone here have 25% tint and if you do can you post pics?

Also anyone who has tint please post pics so I can see what it would look like.

Thanks

also note that its guna look darker in pictures that it really is (lighter & more transparent in person) most of the time...almost looks like 5% limo tint in the pics......visibility through the windows is still pretty good ..even at nite...mayb hard sometimes if sum jakass didnt have his headlites on...but  besides that lol

The place that did mine was only offering 20% or 35%. They didn't get into various percentage. Go with 20% it's not as dark as you think during the day. At night it makes the car look good, nice and dark.

The place I'm going offers a good variety of %'s. I was thinking 20-25%, but I don't feel like getting pulled over and pay the fine.

My family friend just tinted his windows in his 07 CLS550, 5% all around and I had the pleasure of having the car for the night and I was very paranoid so I opened up both front windows and thank god I did so because I drove next to 2 cops that evening.

So I guess I'll just do the legal tint, 30%. At night time my car will look nice & in the daytime, not dark, but def. not as light as it is now.

whOa...50% would b way too light...if u wanna go toward the light side..35% is light enough...20% is a nice in between area...

Finally a pic of your car. I like it....you have done a good tasteful job. I wish my paint up front was still in good shape like yours...I have rock chips from the free way. It's hard to keep up with black.

I had Limo tint on my 72' Monte Carlo. I drove around for 4 yrs with it like that and I was never pulled over. It wasn't safe because it was too dark. I could barely see out of the car at night.

Your car looks great! It looks very dark in the pics. I think 30% will be perfect. I don't want to stay on the light side, but then I also don't want to get pulled over lol.

Thank you for the compliments on my car. I have more pics on the CLK picture thread.

Yeah, it's very hard to keep up with a black car. All our cars have always been black.

I wash my car every weekend if the weather is good. I wish I had the time to do it more than once a week.

good luck w/ tint.

btw, try to inquire about non-metallic tint.
after i did mine, the am/fm tuners and the receptions all got worse...just so you're prepared.

thx.

ya me too, but washing too often isn't good for the paint, so once a week is plenty good I think!!

I have Metallic tint on my ride, to be honest I see absolutely no difference in reception, feels the same when I'm in my other family cars, and they don't have tint at all. The only reception that goes bad is AM, that I noticed only in some areas tho.

Dropped off my car at the tint shop this morning. He offers 2 types of tint, 3M & Suntek. Suntek is the cheapest one and the guy said it will mess up your radio quality a bit and he said its metallic.

I went with 3M, its great quality. I had to go with 35% because they didin't have 3M for 30%.

It's not like that for all cars, but I've been warned by a few ppl about that. So I didn't go with suntek, plus I liked the 3M a lot, great quality, and looks a lot darker than suntek.

I think my sister has 35% suntek on her range rover (front windows) and my 35% 3M is a lot darker.

sweet.. you can't get away with 5% in cali? i'd think you'd be able to.. everyone in florida drives around with dark dark windows with the windshields tinted too and you wont get a ticket for it unless you get pulled over by a cop and you are being a real ******* to him..

i've been pulled over like 7 times for various **** left my windows up the entire time and have never been hassled for my tint..

You can have whatever tint you want in the back windows, but the front can only be 30%.

You can get a way with 5% in the front, but that's risky and I don't want to risk it just yet. Plus its way too dark.

When I had my family friends cls550 for the night, I could barely see out the window, it was very uncomfortable.
