Did an oil change yesterday and filled it up accordingly but now I'm getting a message to drain some.
Any ideas, I know I didn't overfill?
Thanks.

If you "filled" it with cold oil, oil expands when hot, taking it over the full mark.
Great answer, thank you.
Do you think I need to drain a little bit to allow for the expansion?

Why don't you check your oil level manually....the oil level sensor is known to go bad. The worst part is, it's located inside the oil pan. So if it is bad, you're gonna have to remove the bottom of the pan, R/R the sensor (which is easy) then reseal/replace the pan with a new gasket and silicone. (A very messy job).

I DID check it manually and like I said it's on the mark.

I would. If you use a vacuum pump to change your oil, sucking a little out will be simple.Originally Posted by Idle Swede

Drained a little bit of oil and everything is fine.
Nothing wrong with the sensor just 2 - 3 oz. to much oil.
Thanks for your help.......
