On my CLK430 Conv...I am about to order HID kit from www.hidsource.com (5000K). They told me that 5000K is better than 6000K, even though 6000K is brighter and more bluish. They also told me that 5000K only lose 8% from 4300K light, when 6000K lose 70-80% of the light. And, 5000K looks better than 4300K. Is it right?

What would you guys recommend?
6000K, 5000K, or 4300K ?

They are asking 5000K for $500... is this a good deal? Their brand is philips....

I also was going to change my fog lights (2) and parking lights (2), but heard that it will last only 4-5 months because I am just changing the bulbs....Is it worth it to change??

Final question...
What is the bulb size for fog lights and parking lights? I know the headlight is H7.....

i got 5000kHID i was going 6000k but is not bright as the 5000k.
My friend got 6000k the colour looks really good but when i sit inside his car is not very bright. I also change my fog light but i think is only for look because i don't feel big difference

get 5000K, and the price is kind of high. I got my 7000K installed for $400.

My are Hella Ballblast from German.

I got mine installed at my local stereo shop. Car Audio Craftsmen, Ask for Eric and tell him you're Peter's Friend.

They were just rated top 10 of the top 100 Installers in the United States Last month by some car audio magazine, I forgot which...

My car is there right now getting a new system installed.

Hey I just went to the shop and saw your black CLK430. They were installing sound system on your car, your car will be just awesome in few days.

I told Eric that you introduced me to his shop and asked for HID system, and he said that it will cost $469 installed. When I said that you did installed yours for $400 and he said that you are VIP customer and spent about $40K-$50K on many different cars.

Jeez... what do you do for living? Why do you have so much cars?

He told me to call him back again on Monday afternoon because many Mercedes accessories shops are closed on Saturday. Anyway, thank you for your help and I think I am going to install them on Friday.

I checked your Xenon lights and it looks awesome...just same as OEM. I would like to know exactly which one you installed. Can you ask Eric to install exactly same as yours for $450??

6000K, all my friends have those, bright as hell and looks much whiter/bluer than 5000K.

Blackbaby, Dude I must of just missed you, I saw a Black CLK convertible there today, it must of been you. I was there to check on my car and my friends silver Porsche that was next to my car...

Yeah Yeah... I saw a silver Porsche.... THAT WAS BAD~ You and your friend are going crazy! You should take a photograph your CLK with new sound systems and upload them in a picture thread here... people will LOVE it!

When I talk to Eric, he was not that helpful I guess it was because he has a lot of work to do on your car and your friend's Porsche. And maybe, because I am not worthy customer to talk to.. since people like you are spending several thousand dollars. I gave him the list of things that I want to change and he just asked me to call him back on Monday afternoon.

Hey, Peter... can ya give me some help? These are the list that I requested him to get.

1. Xenon HID system (don't know which one is typically good beside $1,200 sylvania, so will you chose one for me?)
2. AMG Illuminated Door Sill Panels
3. Bird's Eye Black Armrest Cover
4. Bird's Eye Black Door Handles
5. Mercedes Flat Hood Emblem
6. Chrome Shiftgate Set

After wondering what to do with my car, I found the website called www.formymercedes.com and there were some stuffs that I wanted to buy. #2 - #6 above, they are all in this website with prices. But now, if Eric can get them and match the price for me, I am going to get them from him and have him installed.

Can you manage my purchase? When will your car be done?

HOPE to see you in person some day...

p.s. I am thinking about to get the xenon bulbs on parking lights and fog lights. It looks kind of unbalanced when only the headlight is white and others are yellow.

I agree with you on changing all the lights, it does look weird, I just can't seem to find the bulbs for the parking light, fog lights are no prob, but those darn tiny parking lights!!!!

So you live in Fullerton, cool, I am going to Cal State Fullerton right now for my MBA. I guess Eric's shop is not too far for you at all.

I will be there tomorrow, he promised me my car today, but i wanted to add ps2, so they had to re-do the wires, so tomorrow it is!!!!!
