2002 clk 430
Rim Fitment Issuee Help pleasseee...

02 clk 430 Rims are Stern hypermesh 19 by 9.5 rear 8.5 front all with 35 offset, the rear fit fine but the front wont go on properly due to the "Grease cap" i believe they have 2.5 front lip if somone can tell me the problem or how i can remove the grease caps or willl i need spacers pleassse tell me ???

what is a "grease cap?"

That is the front spindle bearing dust cap. It pulls out with a large pair of channel locks or use a flat blade screw driver and work around the lip like your prying off a paint can lid. Behind it is the bearing and race assy. and you may also find a decent portion of the front spindle sticking out.


If this is the case then the dust cap needs to be dome shaped. If the end of the spindle does not extend past the dust cap rim the have an autoparts store match the diameter but with a flat dust cap, or more shallow dome.

Hope this makes sense.

Which area do you pry from to get the cap off? I labeled the areas, is it 1 or 2?

This should be in the diy section, i mean i did a search and couldnt find anything on how to remove the dust cap properly....Neways thanks a lot im gonna take another try at it with my tools, thanks
