I've heard great things about that motor. highly tunable.around $2800 from Vishnu tuning= 80-100HP & 100 torque

I had a 1994 318IC Cabrio before my current 2001 CLK320 Cabrio.

Eben the 4 cyl. BWM was a lot more fun to drive, realabile and came with better BMW/Dealer customer care.

BMW's always handle better than Merc's. My moms 530I sedan out handles my bros CLK 55. It even has better feel...

I have a CLK430 and my brother owns a CLK 55. Both would get killed by the 335. Go to Vishnu Tunings site and check out the exhaust and chip package. They gained over 50-60 whp and 80+ foot pounds of torque. All this for under $2800. http://www.vishnutuning.com/bmw_1_v380.htm

Do you have a 430 or 320 (your avator info under your avator says 320)? Is the diffrence in power between the 55 and the 430 terribly diffrent?

You can spend $600 for a thing called Split Second Turbo Tuner and with some hot gas, you will be mid 12's and trap 108-110 mph. You can install and remove this sensor interceptor in 5 minutes or less.

You also have piggypack options from Vishnu or Juicebox, this will get you low 12's and mid 110's with race gas.

People can also get the $2000 flash from Dinan but that is a rip off.

If were talking about the new 335i, then yes it's a sweet car, fast and fun.

As for whoever said it'd kill the 430 and 55, your ignorant, re-check your facts, last time I checked the car has 306 hp and 295 torque, does 0-60 in 5.4 s, now....you think it'll kill a 55? the 430 will hang with it but MIGHT not beat it. Sure, Vishnu offers a very good performance package, if your willing to wait that long line ofcourse...

I had the chance to play with a 335i sedan. I was behind one at the light. A prelude was next and the guy in the 335i was prevoking him. I thought why not? Normaly I would turn off esp, but it had just rained. The light went green and we both had a little trouble with traction... The prelude was not a problem, but he was slowely pulling away. I would say we were a little less than a car length. I thought that was pretty good for the power that it has.... Hopefully he was going all out

A 335I would beat a 430! the 335i is faster than the old M3! hence bringin out the V8 M3! I think a 335i could even match a 55! the clk 55amg isnt that fast compared to other amgs

ApproachingZero, I'm sure he was giving the beans, a friend of mine has a chipped 07 E350 said he raced one and it pulled 2-3 lengths around the 3 digits. So I have no doubt you got pulled slowly in top end I would assume those Twin-Turbos should kick in at higher speeds.

Josh, what I meant was the 430 might not beat a 335i, I see it as a dead even match stock for stock until they hit triple digit speeds. The CLK55 is not fast as the other AMG models, yes, but don't underestimate it because remember it is a N/A 5.4 motor pushing over 340+ hp and a whopping 370+ tq!! So yeah it's not the powerful of the bunch... but it does one hell of a time on the quarter mile, so no a stock 335i will NOT kill it.
