Looks nice but is your hood not closed all the way, the gap looks rediculously big.

I think it's funny that you spend a bunch of time trying to get a grill with a star and I would like my C230K to have a grill without the star.

What's with the gap below the grill?

I'm not talking about the Star Grille, it's the bottom portion grille b/w the fog lights. The Star grille took me only 10 minutes to intalled. It's redesigning the mesh with the right radians and angles underneath the license plate portion. The grille is made out of 16 guage perferated metal with 1/4" dia. holes. The most time consuming was to machine the metal and polishing it. Of course I don't spend the hole day or weeks on it. It's the process of times off here and there.

OH i forgot, i don't know what's the deal with the gap. I went out to check and it doesn't have that much space. Must be the angle of the camera.

hmm, i'll check more in detail now. thanks for pointing it out guys. How can it be hood damaged? Never got into accident before and I bought this car brand new when it first came out. I might have to take it to the dealer if the warranty cover's this.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. If any of you guys are interest in putting a mesh grill I have made a template of the grille. I'll sell it for cheap including part/hardware and instructions. I have a chrome version being chrome plate as we speak. It will be done in two weeks. I'll mount that on just for show if anyone want to see.

Grille will be raw material and pre-cut. Ready to be paint. Mounting only takes 15 minutes. Let me know if interested. THANKS GUYS.

I am really interested!! The thing in the middle (bar which goes inside the bumper) is broken. Instead of glueing or repairing it, I would go for your style (just put MESH and cover the inside of the bumper) My car is black.. can you make me one? I will pay you!

BANASN,

the rear door to my grandparents m-class was way off alignment. they had the car for about a year and a half and no one noticed it until i pointed it out. the dealer took care of realigning it and everything for free under warranty. i hope you can get the gap taken care of (if there is a gap indeed, could be the angle of the shot). oh, and the bottom mesh looks great.

Misaligned hood

If you check, there are a LOT of CLK's with misaligned hoods. It seems it's a w208 thing as I have seen it more than once. The rest of the car is aligned pretty good however...

hey fellas,

Thanks for the compliments. About the hood problem, the dealer said it was not align so it's fix. I am very surprise about the out come of the grille design I made for my car. When I took my car in the dealer for service, a sale's guy ran up to me asked where I got my grille. I told him I made it. To make a long story short he asked me if I can make one for his customer who's buying a 2002 CLK. He said his customer loved the looks of it. So made one and sold to him. Get this, two of his friends knew about the grille and they want me to make two more for there cars!! Thought to my self hmmm......maybe I can design this kind of grille for the rice rocket cars. So I went to Pan's Auto, Epic, and Elite Import accessories to make a proposal and showed them what I can do and got. They FREAKIN Loved it!!! They all want my business card and want me to make special grilles for there after market spoilers. So now I"m a busy as hell!! Never thought I hit a gold mind. They said the material I use are high quality ****! Not like those typical chicken wire. I just can't believe i'm making a side job with this now.
