Clk430 Rust Problem

Hey,

Yesterday, I placed my car on the lift and found surface rust underneath the car. As a result, I would like to get rid of the rust. Any suggestions?

Will that get rid of the surface rust on the suspension and steering arm?

I hopefully going to put the car on a lift tomorrow to take pictures. How much do you think it would cost to get it professionally cleaned up?

Thanks

Well, it would really depend. What part of the suspension? And is it just a simple surface rust? Or do you know if it goes deeper.

I would personaly bring it to a body shop and get quoted.

Hey,

I just got out of my mechanic shop today. Its just surface rust. I just purchased the car about two weeks ago. The lessen learned is NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THE STATES ABOVE NEW YORK because they used salt to get rid of snow causing corrision and rust. My car had only 50,000 miles and i have surface rust (AKA CANCER). PLEASE SAVE YOUR SELF THE TROUBLE, DO NOT BUY ANY CARS FROM ANY STATES ABOVE NEW YORK!!!!

You might also consider an inspection before the purchase.

I live in Europe, Estonia n we have a lot of snow in the winter time aka a lot of salt & chemicals on the roads. My car has been in Estonia for a year now, no rust yet (bought from Italy). Although Im certain theres gonna be rust sooner or later (w208,w210 are notorious for rust), I try keeping it for later by washing my car as much as possible.

and this is news? I would even have a car I bought from one MB dealer be inspected by another MB dealer. Just to be safe or have my indy look at it as well.
