New Member's Introduction & Questions on Specific Parts on Modifying my CLK.
As you all know, this is truly my first post in this website/forum. I just joined a couple days ago. So if you don't mind, I'd like to give you a quick overview of me and my cars.
I was formerly a member of the ToyotaNation Forum. 80% of the members there in my specific section knew who i was and how extremely nice my car was.
I'm a real cool dude, down to earth, easy to talk to. I'm one of those guys who anyone can relate to. I also know a lot about many cars, especially when it comes down to modifying and connections as far as prices go.
On Jan 29th 2008, I was on the way to school, but while on the freeway during traffic, I was rear ended pretty hard. It was to the point where my insurance company couldn't repair my car. My previous car was a HEAVILY MODIFIED TOYOTA CAMRY. For a 4-cylinder camry, it was very fast... 268 HORSEPOWER at the wheels fast. That alone should give you an idea of how much it was modified. Keep in mind that stock horsepower was only 133. Here's pics of my previous car...

As of right now, I had just purchased a great looking CLK 320 (W208). I'll give you guys all the details in about a week or so. However, I do indeed have A LOT and I mean A LOT of plans with modifying my new CLK, the only difference is that any parts for a CLK are WAY EXPENSIVE compared to what i'm use to paying. Geez. LoL. It's all good though. I think it's worth it.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, now as far as modifying, if you guys can REALLY help me out on this one. I have a bunch of questions, if you know anything or have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.
PLEASE NOTE:
I've done my research and read a lot of threads already. I just want to make sure of some things before i go on with them.
- Let's say I buy some aftermarket wheels...
What are the WIDEST set of rims that i can fit without custom body work?
In 17's, 18's, or 19's?
And what offset? I want as much lip as possible.
I also might have the car lowered before hand.
(I don't mind rolling my rear fenders)
- Is it worth getting a air intake? (after reading threads, didn't seem like much)
- I found some "okay priced" ECU performance chips, is it worth it?
- Are there any carbon fiber parts available for the engine area?
- Are there any carbon fiber parts available for the interior?
- What brands make coilovers for a CLK 320 (W208)?
- What's the BEST setup to lowering my car?
(example: springs, adjustable coilovers, etc.)
- Is there ANY AFFORDABLE way of getting a good amount of Horsepower?
- Is there anything that you might want to add?
--------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for your patience fellow peeps. I know it seemed kinda' long, but it won't always be like that.
Laters,
Greg

Whatever you do, if you see that BlackBenzz guy, just pull over and stop. Stop immediately. Why? Because if you were going 75 MPH with the cruise on, and Blackbenzz was stopped. And that Blackbenzz guy jumped on the loud pedal the split second you were even with him, in that 12 seconds, he'd catch you and pass you.

Welcome to the forum. Now, post some pics of the Gixxer.
If you want tire protection (the ability to enjoy upgraded power), then you want 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear. 20's fit, but with rubber bands for tires. you'll wanna lower it after you put on 19's.
no affordable way to improve power significantly. find a shop to put in a custom TT setup...been wanting to see that. still not cheap tho

You're funny Marcus. I never thought of it that way lolbabyboigxr- I have 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear without any problems. You need to make sure you get the right offset. The lip depends on if you get big brake sor not.
There are no true coilovers that I know of. The closest you will get is KW v.2's.
Dont waste your money trying to make a CLK320 go fast. At the end of the day it will cost a lot of money and still not be that fast.

Are you still using the same wheels as the ones shown on your signature? if not, can you send me pics of your current wheels? thanks.
