I decided to search ebay for some new wheels for my '00 CLK 430. I figured I'd ask the many fellow CLK owners what their experience has been with the wheels on ebay. Obviously they appear to be cheap enough - but is the quality there? Does anyone have pictures of any of the three wheels I've chosen below on their car?
1) Wheel #1
2) Wheel #2
3) Wheel #3
I appreciate your words of wisdom!
Cheers,
Lance

See my post "what you need to know when you buy a clk" posted a few days ago.
Check out Velocity Motoring website. My wheels were offered on ebay, I called them directly and got the same(maybe better) deal over the phone. Most durable wheels I have ever had. Believe me, there were many many oppurtunities for these to be ruined but they stay straight.
I am going to trade my car to the dealer later this week, so if anyone is interested in buying these wheels(brand new rear tires, about 6 months left on the front), SPEAK UP NOW. I will also sell the car for what the dealer will offer.

I like wheel # 2, for some reason the first model just seems a bit to "skinny" on the spoke style and to me just dont fit the model to well.
If you are looking for ebay type wheels, or a good deal look up the seller "xautowheels" they are also here in CA, I have had good luck with them overall and have a variety of choices. I dont know what your price range is but for about a few hundred more on wheels only youll have tons of choices.
If you end up going or calling them, ask for Chris and let them know Leonard with the NSX sent you, good luck.

you get what you pay for. you probably will end up with some cheap , replica wheel made in China that will wobble, even with the use of hub centric rings.
spend a little more money up front, and avoid having all those issues.

check your local tire shop
I was doing the same thing as you looking on ebay and seeing whats used. I picked up a new set of staggered 18s with new tires out the door for 2100.
I will post pics in the morning for you to look at. They are made for the benz so i didnt need any centering rings and the fit is perfect. Once you start adding in the centering rings and lugs they really aint that much cheaper.

I bought a set of staggered 19's from Ebay very similar in appearance to your (wheel 1) photo. I've had no trouble at all and they look great on the car.
A word of warning though.... Beware of the wrong wheel bolts!
My wheels came from DTM Autowerks complete with 20 shiny new bolts.
When I had a close look at the new bolts, I discovered that they were the conical seat type, could have caused me big trouble if I hadn't noticed.
Which ever wheels you go for, Make sure you have a feel inside the recesses in the wheel bolt holes to determine whether you have conical or "Ball seat" type.
If you tighten the conical type bolts against a ball seat type wheel, There is potential to have a wheel fracture and the rim and tyre to come flying off when you're out on the road.
Length is also an issue. (Although my wife says not!)
Good luck!
