Front wheel bearing?

Had free time on my hands, so I took my car to my independent shop just for a regular check up.

My mechanic noted that my left wheel bearing needs to be replaced due to excessive play lol.

How much does it cost to replace?

this just happenend to my car first it started out as some squealing then im like it sound like the wheel bearing so i waited till i got some more money to fix it u have about between 150 to 300 km from the noise starts till the bearing breaks off and u will have to park it wherever u are but it cost me 350 dollars canadian to fix it and that was at a local shop someone told me mercedes would have been double id only take my car to mercedes for a and b service other then that stuff like this id rather save money unless u want that mercedes quality part but even a bearing thats not mercedes will still last 200 000km at least

Mine had the same problem. The passenger side had excessive play. I just adjusted them and that was it.

I don't have any of the symptoms. I would've never guessed that my wheel bearing needed replacement until my mechanic informed me. I guess I'll have it adjusted this week.

Thanks guys!

So how do you readjust them? DIY or shop?

That wheel bearing kit looks like the way to go... That looks like a great price. Last time I was at the stealership getting a transmission flush, they said that I should have my wheel bearing repacked. I get a rubbing noise out of my front right wheel.

You think I should use this kit or just have them repacked and adjusted. If I was to go with this kit, how easy is it. I do my own brakes, oil, MAF, etc., but don't even know where to start with this wheel bearing problem. Should I just buy this kit and take it to an indy shop? Thanks in advance.
