I buried the needle on my Supercharged Cobra that had a speedo at 160mph

And I've done 150+ with my CLK. I have a Brabus delimiter. I'll never go that fast again cuz I want to take care of my engine now. But one things for certain I know I could have gone faster....I'll always wonder how much faster I can go but I'm sure it would really put some stress on my 136,000 mil engine.

 

Cobras will do 160+ for sure

I personaly have hit 130mph about 15-20 different times.
I dont understand why some of you guys consider this to be abusing the car.
I currently have 130k miles on the car and have never had any problems with the engine.
Unfortunatelly my car has a limiter.
The first time i did it and found out that the car has a limiter made me really mad.
The fastest i have ever gone is 155mph in my dads 1994 E 280.

 

Where abouts on the #1 did you hit 160? I got up to 210 on the upper levels.

 

get your ECU reflashed by Speed Innovation, and your speed limiter is removed =)

I just got mine reflashed, and it's like driving a new car! Throttle lag is completely GONE!!! shifting is smoother. Power gains are clearly apparent.

230 km/hr (140 mph) in my 230Kompressor. Was still accellerating but ran out of room. Smooth as! (not bad for a 4-cylinder, eh?)

These cars are built to run free on the German Autobahn. If you've been there, you'll have seen them flash past gregularly, even if you are travelling near 200 km/hr (125 mph). In fact, giving them a good run is good for them!

I regularly spin the motorbike (Honda VFR800) out to those speeds, top speed 225 km/hr (mind you that feels a LOT faster than in the car!)

 

I hit 135 on Rt 29 heading towards warrenton racing a Mustang gt with some bolt ons.
