Just bought my first CLK320...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...EWA:PIC&ih=007

This will be my first German car, and my second overall. I'm finally selling my acura legend coupe, truth is it needed to go.

So you guys probably know these cars pretty well...do you think I got a good price?(got the price down to 12,500). Any tips on maintenance, or common problems to look for? Any must have extras I should look into?

I'm planning a few changes right off. First is the wheels. I was thinking black 18-19 with a chrome lip or gun metal five spoke. How wide can i get the back?

What mufflers are you guys using on the 320 (2000), and is there a good note change with the V6? Is there anything else in the exhaust I can cut out or replace for a better note (needs to pass NYS inspection)?

I'm assuming this clk doesn't have HID's so I'm going to get projector headlights(http://www.dragtimes.com/parts-viewe...D=110258831504 these any good?) along with a HID conversion kit. Any HID recommendations?

Any options for intakes? the stock system doesn't look all that restrictive, maybe just a high flow oem filter.

Now for the suspension, any strut bars available? How about upgraded sway bars? How much can you lower before a camber kit is needed?( I don't want to kill tires)
Any info will help thanks

I got my CLK320 on ebay as well

For the condition and miles it looks like a good deal assuming it is as advertised. Let us know what you think about it when you get it!

Good for you... congrats. The price was right! I just bought a 430 a couple of weeks back. I just slapped on my new wheels, H&R's and #1 pads - check it out (pics posted on this forum).

Cheers,

Lance

Definitely helpful, the car sounds really reliable, thanks. A friend told me to used a flexible wire and mark the the full point after service so you can keep an eye on the level(trany fluid), sounds good to me...thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info, its just hid kits are confusing, I have one here thats $24(+50shipping) that has good ebay feedback and I've got one that cost nearly 300.

whats the deal, what am i paying for with the name brand(if it is cus i dont recognize it)?
what am I risking with the cheap kit?

I know Im asking you guys to hold my hand a bit here but I don't want hids that flicker and i wouldnt mind saving a buck, let me know what you think

def dont go with the cheap kit like 25 bucks, get anything you want but make sure you ask the seller that will the ballast have enough power for your headlights or will they require any type of relays and such. Get the kit that does not require any relays and is simple plug and play and do not flicker your lights.

One more thing your in long island, ny? if so there are many local sellers on craigslist. its better to purchase in person. Or if you want, i can sell you mine for 100 bucks, i paid 150 my kit is 8000k. You can see it in person too.

Poughkeepsie, last stop on metro-north Hudson line. I just picked the car up yesterday-drove right by you. Sounds like a fair deal to me, I was looking for more of a 6000k but $100 for a proven working set is hard to pass up.
Give me a moment on that because I'm probably going for projector fog lights as well as headlights and I might want to buy a matching set. Don't hold them for me, I'll know in a week or so.
thank for the help
