CUSTOM EXHAUST: What do you guys think?

Hey,

I am thinking of getting a custom exhaust for my 2002 CLK430. Should I make it look like an Eleanor exhaust? Whould i run into any problems?

Thanks
Steve

CLK but loves my Fords
On a stock looking clk it looks overdone. But if the clk had lots of body mods and was already extreme looking it might fit!

Yea, definatly. I want to put on new fenders (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...3756.m14.l1318) and a new bumper.

Thanks
Steve

Those fenders look real good. I would get a one of a kind custom rear bumper (no exhaust cutouts) too.

Supercharged CLK430 street/show car
Cool exhaust

I thought about doing that a year ago! I still might. You definitely got to have some body work done or it wont flow with the car!

i wanted to do this on my C-class which was a show car, all show no go, but the problem is that the gas tank sits over there and its plastic... non of the exhaust shops i went to agreed to doing it... by the way the c-class w202 and clk 208 share the same undercarriage, i just installed a full c43 exhaust on my clk430 on factory locations no modification what so ever

vizionautosport,

i felt the engine is more relaxed, and there is a nice rumble to the car, after 3000 rpm i feel it is more alive and i give a nice growl... my friend has a c43 and he cut of the cats and put straight pipes, the sound is much nicer, but i dont like driving around with the check engine light...

definitely a cool idea. Might even fix the true dual exhaust issue?

maybe a single wide oval would look better than 2 tips?

also, make sure and figure out about temperatures...it'd be sad to melt the side skirt!

OMG, I was thinking about doing the same thing about a week ago.

But the way I wanted to do it was like the diagram I provided. I would have to buy a second Brabus muffler which I found.

The only way it would look good though is with angled tips like the Brabus Exhaust tips but coming out the side skirts.

But obviously the end results would be flush to the side skirt and not stick out like a sore thumb
