to the OP; i am glad you really like this unit, it really looks like a good install job. i was leaning towards purchasing one too but did some research and read some user reviews on crutcfield, amazon and a few other sites - seems like there are a lot people that are not happy with it at all (load time, software glitches, etc). I ended up getting a Kenwood DNX 5120 instead. I guess they use garmin for their navigation and overall the reviews were much better.
just a heads up to anyone like me that is still in the market, do a little research and read as many first hand reviews as you can. once again i am glad this worked out for the OP, it really looks great in your car!!!

Has anyone figured out if it is possible to upgrade the audio without losing the wheel controls? Local audio shop is telling me that it is not possible and that upgrade of the audio will mean losing wheel control - cannot think why this would have to be the case.

PAC or someone like that makes a piece around $50 or so that can integrate the volume back. Don't think you can change channels but it definately alllows to keep the volume on the steering wheel...

and i dono...the bluetooth always *** up n freezes up my phone..like i said ..maybe its my phone...
i try playin music out the sd card..but everything lags a lot and the random play is retarded..i dono...its a lota stupit lil things...the navi seems like it messes up too compared to my d3....

I am thinking about this unit as well but the Installer said that his complaint is that you cannot watch video nor enter Nav while driving. Since you guys have been using this or other units, how big of an annoyance is this? Won't someone probably come out with a hack eventually for the video? I know this one ties to the speedometer and that makes things tougher...

I own this unit and it is a great unit. Pound for pound the best Car Nav/Audio/Video System on the market. It's packed with almost every conceivable feature. The only downside to this product is that it is extremely buggy and as a consequence I'm on the fence as to whether I made the right purchase.

wut bothers me so much is just the lagggggggggggg when u press sht
n ya i can watch vids n control nav while drivin but the downside to this is that u cant use the voice activated controls on the bluetooth if u do the hack

Just had my 900bt installed last week. They did have to custom cut a dash trim around it...no biggie tho. Love this unit! Still figuring out some things but it is an amazing unit and some people joke that the blue tooth mic sounds better than when I am on my cell phone with them!

Any Problem with the Speed sensor hook up for the Nav
I have a 99 Clk any issues with the speed senor hook up, I had a Indy shop tell me some crap today about $800 for a comp. mod that needed to happen or install something conected to the drive shaft for $200, then he told me it would be a one off custom install and some **** about fiberglass and all day to install it. This Dude was seriously yanking my chain!
I kid u not!
He just lost my business and any body else I come in contact with, like my son who he had as a customer, no more pal.
Anyway I'm just tried of these guys giving me the shaft because I drive a Benz. I came in with the Radio and sunglasses compartment out of the car so he could see what he had to work with, I already bought the correct cable and antenna adapter for the install and he's talking to me like I am a idiot
Sorry had to vent...
So anyway any problems with the install?

Woot BTW the new Z is out and F series has been out! Lag problems are gone! When you push something it responds right away + increased bootup time and maps, yadda yadda.
If you haven't already grab the 3.0 firmware upgrade.

1. Where to get a trim that matches, or in black birdseye?
2. Hooking up any of these unit up to the stock amp do you loose anything like the sub and such? Point me to the harness you used too

2. This is the biggest problem for me. I found a few shops that straight up said they cannot install the unit without a new amp and speakers because the system is fiber optic. Finally went to a good shop that said they could, but I had to provide an amp. The problem I now face is the 4 channel amp is completely confused with the 10 speaker system and it sounds like AZZ. Still gonna have to replace the speakers...
