CD Changer issue

I have problems with my CD changer. It keeps changing the CD number saying no CD, and Empty magizine. Ive taken it out, restarted car and am out of clues. Only thing I wierd is before this happened, I did a donut in the car while it was wet

Same thing happened to me on the coldest day of the year. I turned on the car and chose a CD and the system took a dump. I actually took the whole CD changer out and tried to reconnect everything but it did not work. This may sound weird but I did read that sometimes the software used for the CD changer erases itself? I heard you have to have it reinstalled by the star system. I could be wrong, but GL b/c it is frustrating!

has this ever happened or did you just get the car? bc i noticed that cheap burned cd's tend to give off the no cd display on the radio. fuji cd's solve the problem. im not sure if this is your problem but i thought id try

I'm having the same problem with my 430. Everything else is working but the CD changer. I'm also getting the same error message. I was told by the dealership I bought it from that they are going to have to take it to Mercedes to get fixed. So if you do figure it out before I can get it repaired....Let me know.

Cool

I have always heard that the fiberoptic cable that connects at the changer itself is garbage. Shakes loose all the time. People have even come up with homemade fixes to help keep it in place. I would start there.

for me the part that changes the CDs needed lubrication. it's been working 99% of the time now.
