Painted Engine cover installed
Spent two days modifing the OE engine cover to fit over the Kleemann supercharger, then another day sanding it down and painting. To finish it up, I hand painted the Mercedes logo brilliant silver (the star also). Because of the routing of the water lines, it does not fit all the way flush to the valve covers, nothing that can be done about that though.
I also replaced the top of the C36 airbox with a new OE CLK320 airbox cover. I could of used the bottom also, but the C36 box has larger inlets (grill and down in front of the bumper) so I elected to keep the bottom of the C36 airbox

I didn't get a cover with my car, so I had to purchase one new from the stealership, something like $100. Other costs were minimal, some Dremel cutting wheels, 400 grit wet/dry, one can of adhesion promoter, one can of dupli color chrome paint and one can of color matched lacquer (www.towerpaint.com). So maybe $125 for me, for you, probably $25-30 to do your existing engine cover.

Thanks! Probably will color match the wheels to the car or do a semi-gloss black on the wheels with body colored lips, not sure yet. Also will be painting the CF hood body color, at least the center section and leave the outter edges of the hood unpainted.

Right now the car looks clean and classy even with the carbon fiber hood.
Color matched rims with a contrasting lip color will change everything, it may be a step away from classy to tuner’ish depends how carefully your approach it, which you will anyways.
Since I really like the color of your car, I would paint the rims that wine color and do a thin black accent around the lip and center logo cap black, or the just the rivets black. Kinda the opposite of what you said. It would just amplify that beautiful color and same conformity as your body mostly wine color and less black.

Probably will still paint the hood though, the carbon fiber has a couple of cracks in it that can be addressed by painting the center section (was that way when I bought it) so thats what is driving the decision for paint.

Solid, constructive comments, thanks. Looks like I need to do a bit of Photo Shoppin to see which ideas look best.
