Aftermarket sub/amp to Factory HU ?...

I know the bose wire diagrams, and how to hook up my high/low converter but do I really needed a high low converter?

Cant I just run the stock rear preamp line strait into my aftermarket amp then back out the AUX out of my amp to the bose amp?

I guess put simply is the voltage out of the head unit before the Bose amp good for my aftermarket amp?

Thanks

Its just one JL10w7, (or one bad a$$ 10 inch) . Fills in the <200hz very nicely without drowning the Bose.

So there's the setup, dont mind the orange nylon rope, its just a temp until I strap it down.

I have the two battery leads strait to the cap then from the cap to the amp.

Ths stock Bose amp is located behind drivers side trunk liner, the front of my box is lined up with it.
For the RCA's from the head unit I used this diagram, which i found in the "How to" Thread from Bnz. (Thanks)
1. BROWN (big wire): Chassis Ground
2. RED with VIOLET strip (big wire): 12 Volt Ignition/Acc
3. BLUE with WHITE strip: Amp Turn-On (Remote)

INPUTS (from Headunit to Amplifier) - 8 THIN wires:

4. GREEN: + Left Front (input)
5. BROWN with GREEN strip: - Left Front (input)

6. ORANGE: + Right Front (input)
7. BROWN with ORANGE strip: - Right Front (input)

8. PINK: + Left Rear (input)
9. BROWN with PINK strip: - Left Rear (input)

10. WHITE: + Right Rear (input)
11. BROWN with WHITE strip: - Right Rear (input)

OUTPUTS (from Amplifier to Speakers) - 10 THICK wires:

12. GREEN: + Left Speaker and Tweeter in the Front side of the door (output)
13. BROWN with GREEN strip: - Left Speaker and Tweeter in the Front side of the door (output)

14. ORANGE: + Right Speaker and Tweeter in the Front side of the door (output)
15. BROWN with ORANGE strip: - Right Speaker and Tweeter in the Front side of the door (output)

16. PINK: + Left Speaker in the Back side of the door (output)
17. BROWN with PINK strip: - Left Speaker in the Back side of the door (output)

18. WHITE: + Right Speaker in the Back side of the door (output)
19. BROWN with WHITE strip: - Right Speaker in the Back side of the door (output)

20. GRAY: + Left Speaker(subwoofer) in the rear deck (output)
21. BROWN with GRAY strip: - Left Speaker(subwoofer) in the rear deck (output)

22. VIOLET: + Right Speaker(subwoofer) in the rear deck (output)
23. BROWN with VIOLET strip: - Right Speaker(subwoofer) in the rear deck (output)

What I did was take the pos and neg of each rear speaker preamp wire and attached an RCA cable to it and then attached an RCA to the other side of each wire going into the stock Bose amp(center is pos, outer is neg). What I should have done was solder these on
.
I also spliced into the remote power on for the stock amp and used that for my aftermarket amp. Then I ran the preamp signal into my aftermarket amp. My amp had RCA Aux outputs which basically pasted on the preamp signal, which I put right back into the stock bose amp.

This worked great, and is very easy to do. You can also use the fade to adjust the bass with the loss or gain of the rear speakers.

Let me know how it turns out...

EDIT: also my amp had a low pass filter, i not sure if all amps have that so it your doesn't you need to get a crossover to cut out the high frequencies.
